I bought one of those about 5 years ago (same venerated company too), and it is still working.

Just one point you need to check. Make sure the wire connections on the leads are secure. There were a few whose wires were not securely fastened to the connectors by the factory, and I did hear of a fire caused by that oversight. I think I got that from a Big Clive vid on youtube.

As to accuracy, well a blind man running for a bus wouldn’t notice, and good enough to be useful.

come on there close the last one of the 3 id say was spot on you have a lathe parting tool the long end off leaving a short stub could have saved a fortune

A block of polystyrene so I can replace the dodgy looking flotation blocks in the ends of my canoe. And at 5' long there'll be plenty left over for spares .

Postie was busy this morning, 5 small parcels.

2 new filters for my karcher vacuum cleaner ( normally changed every 6 months, in between take it off and tap against inside of base),

transfer punch set - for marking holes on power hacksaw trolley,

elbows to change wiring on power hacksaw electrics box,

2 metal discs to be cut into semi's for mounting brackets for power hacksaw trolley - stops me ripping holes in any bags that get nudged when moving the saw,

belt for Tom Senior gearbox - for x axis power - had this milling machine for over 2 years and not used it - will now to cut discs.

Along with a 7/16" clamping kit for the Tom Senior - arrived yesterday and in workshop already.

SWMBO is threatening all kinds trouble if I spend any more this month, mind you, I did order her new garden shed - but they are so busy it will be about an 8 week wait.

I have what is probably the same generic cheap set. They are labelled and boxed as metric but they aren’t. Looked at a few before I bought one and they are all the same. Probably the same factory!

The tips on mine are not mega hard but it’s only a marking punch.

A bee hive. A neighbour has a few hives and wanted to see if he could capture a swarm in my garden. So this is a "top bar" bait hive. if he captures one, he'll transfer the bees to a bigger hive. He came around this afternoon to add some old bee comb and smear some lemon-grass oil around the entrance, supposedly the combination is irresistible. He also consumed some homebrew, he may have to check the hive daily

We also tied it down to some stakes after this pic. there is some bad weather coming and although its in a relatively sheltered spot. never underestimate the weather, I did with my BBQ and now its FUBAR.

I'm 2 days into laying about 2/3rds done now. 66 slabs Down and 40 odd to go.

Screed and lay two slabs then do another mix. Gets tedious.

Beautifully surface ground flywheel, courtesy of Headline MK who did a cracking job. Another machine shop quoted me a 2-week turnaround for this, Headline did it in a day.

Now fitted, and gearbox in too. Still a bit to do..
