Hi was thinking a wee hydraulic Log splitter as I have most of the parts already. Not investigated into it much tbh yet

Not sure if it will power.

Any other ideas would be welcome.

Dad always says what are you going to do with it! My reply worry about that once you have it.

Today I got for free a grass cutter (wire trimmer I don't really know what is the better term to describe the tool) and a chainsaw
The first needs a new carburettor and maybe tomorrow it will be sent to my door
The second needs a new bar oil pump
I can't make a photo now because I have to go out for a little welding repair on a tiller but as soon as possible I will post a photo with in the grass cutter ,the chainsaw and the 3,2 7018 rods that I bought a week ago

So it was a shock to find out it was corrective surgery.


Best bit was in the recovery room when the tea lady showed off, all be it unbeknown, her stocking tops.

Got a box of sykes tools from Ebay turned up today and while out and about was offered 2 strimmers and a chain saw before they were chucked and a few taps and dies most of which will be conduit and BSP.

I never meet people like that when I'm out and about.

Wait, I tell a lie. I did score a Bosch electric chain saw which I cleaned up, sharpened the chain and it's like new now.

I am no gardener lol and if the chainsaw works i have a friends who needs one as he has open fires and a Aga.

DontD make this mistake ,once you try to use a chainsaw there's no way to come back
Is like a drug
First moment you will be scared ,but when you ear the engine working , sparking etc and you see the tree falling is something you can not come back from ...

There's a lot more involved, rather than just walking up to a tree and having at it.

You have to know what you're doing.

I'd peg cross cutting a felled tree as most dangerous for the uninitiated.
The trees down and a false sense of security lulls you.
Cut the wrong branch and the whole lot rolls.

I miss working in the trade but got no bottle for climbing.
