When I was a teenager buying mk2 escorts to use as field cars for £150 and then squashing them when the engines or gearboxes let go was a common thing. When I look at what they're worth now I cry a little inside.

And if you kept them all there'd be a glut on the market and prices would drop. Also where would you have kept them? And all the other stuff that doesn't have a value now but might have done?

I think of 1600E Cortinas, the enthusiasts choice of keeper/doer upper back in the early 1980's. Where are they all now? Or multithousand pound FS1e bought and restored by nostalgic old men, the next generation will have their own nostalgia.

I've got one if not both of these books, I also have a great book by A Grahame Bell really good if you're building a race engine!

I've just finished re-reading the 4 stroke tuning book by A G Bell over my lunch breaks. I also have his book on two stroke tuning which is also a good read, and should come in handy rebuilding my dads old GT250 race bike.
I also need to read Tony Foales book on chassis design, though I think that one is very heavy on the maths front.

MIL was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer, thankfully not imminently terminal, so OH has been helping her sort stuff out and has just returned home with said instrument. Always hankered after playing the piano, so I can’t wait to give it a go.

New flex and plug fitted and it was fit for service.

Spotted some old LPs on FB marketplace for £1 each yesterday so went to have a look at them this morning.
Came back with 8 in various conditions.
Thought the ELO one felt a bit thick, even for a double album.... soon found out why.
It’s still got all the original bits and pieces including the poster and the cardboard spaceship model.
Not sure what it’s worth but way more than a quid!
Blue vinyl too.
