I actually picked this up the other day, managed to use the new kitchen as an excuse again. So far that's the track saw and now the jigsaw, I wonder if I'll be able to wangle anything else.

I bought a cordless bosch set 2nd hand that included a jigsaw & it has been the thing that gets used the most! It's so nice being able to cut shapes without the lead dragging.

I've been cutting out quite a few bits from walls, one rubbish section and several bits for sockets.

right with you now ,yep mulitool is very good for that. I use one myself for cutting boxes and chases in plasterboard that need to be done neat

Today I bagged a upgrade to businesses class. Free food and drink.
So home soon.
No chance of shopping, but a chance to see if the city I knew was there.
It wasn't. But the city has moved on to s better future.

Today I acquire the urge to finish off sorting through dad's nuts, bolts and other stuff. I started a while ago but there is just so much! So started on this during tea break, The jars were relatively well sorted so went into Raaco drawers quite quickly, the ice cream tubs contained small spanners, knives, feeler gauges and all sorts of useful stuff I didn't know I had.

So just this lot to go at today during tea breaks

First couple I opened were interesting

Over the weekend I will start to attack this, smaller nuts and bolts including loads of imperial socket head bolts

and this, larger nuts, gasket papers, collections of bits of brass

and finally this. The aluminium trays are from the back of my old BT Bedford HA van when it went was retired and I got a new Sherpa box van with those useless Lin-Bins. He had them screwed to the wall in his garage, I shall find a suitable bit of wall somewhere....

Today I acquired another old biscuit barrel. Opened it up to clean it, and the scrunched up paper in the base used to raise the jar inside up to the silver rim had today's date on it; not May 31, 2019, but May 31, 1930, Eighty nine years to the day.

Can lightning strike the same person twice, well I think it can. Back in 2012 I purchased an old Astronomy book, and when I got home I noticed that there was an inscription with a date in it, February 17, 1936, exactly seventy six years to the day when I purchased it in 2012.

I just got a Daily Mirror newspaper at the local shop with today's date and am going to add a page from it with the old one to the inside of the barrel before nailing the rim back on. Maybe many years from now someone else may acquire the biscuit barrel and decide to open it up like I did, and hopefully it will bring a smile to their face.

I'm not going to use them so your welcome to them, I'll give you a shout once I've emptied them. It didn't happen to day, the missus had other plans for me........ no nothing like that, it involved screwing pallets together to make a ramp to grow squashes and pumpkins on, then the plumber turned up.............

Must be a recent photo ? Looks like been through a heck of a fight, guess that's what you can expect when cleaning out the swamp with the alligators and parasites biting at you from every direction.
