No problem can you recommend a way to centre a new one to bore it out

Either clamp it to the faceplate, else make a sleeve to fit around the teeth, (slit the ring or sleeve to allow it to compress slightly), then pop it in a 4, preferably, else 3 jaw chuck.

Don't mock. I was having this discussion with my mum the other night, as to what I could, (reversible), convert the big Pollard drill into to justify taking it with me, (rather than selling it), & having it as an acceptable "feature" in a flat/house etc. Especially after the time & effort which went into collecting that, I'm damn loathe to part with it, & lineshaft drills aren't exactly commonplace.

Clamp it on the cross-slide and pop a flycutter in the chuck.

I think they had a falling out with their maintenance contractors, something about shoddy workmanship

The tool box was securely held in place by two tiny wood screws...

Even my old ZZR1100 could hustle along, give the required intestinal fortitude.... Sadly absent from my life until it gains a new crank and rods :'(
