Got these today mainly for sewing leather things and they aid grip and have a nice hole for the needle, They have been cleaned in a ultrasonic tank so i hope i don't catch anything "ELSE"..

I’m sorry, but if you are using these for sewing leather, then you are doing it all wrong.


Stabbing yourself with a large blunt needle repeatedly, is a prerequisite for any leatherwork. I know that for a fact, and have the scars to prove it.

I took the dead heater back and they replaced it with no problems, I got them to plug the replacement in and switch it on before I left though, just in case it didn't work.

Getting rid of our good Lift truck as won't need a big one when I move units and retire, so got myself a little cheap job

As the son of a cobbler i totally agree with you, Until i was 10 i thought it was normal to have a few puncture holes and a few slices caused by trying to snap wenzel thread by hand.

Just sold my big one as don't need it anymore, the old small one will do me it lifts 1.5 ton and weighs in at 3.25 ton

1.5ton lift! Ok I'm surprised.
Our Toyota and Nissan at work are only 1 tonne flt and are bigger than that.
We do have a bigger (2.5ton lift) yang which is used for heavier work. But lacks the finesse.

Few days ago I was asked to unlock a Push Button lock on a stowage area. I am know to the site, as I used to do maintenance on the site. But this time I was visiting. The lock is a type we fit at work, so I have the tools to open if the lock or the code is lost.

Once in I was allowed to take the bikes on. TV box was empty.
So after a few days wait to get the legal paper work passing the items over to me. I sold them on.
A nice bit of Curry money was now mine.

Hope you got a decent curry as I had the 2 specialised bikes (look to be exact same ones) until somebody liberated them from my garage. The left black and white one was a specialised xc comp and the gold and black one was specialised rockhopper. Xc comp was over £1500 new and the rockhopper £1000.

Are these those huge ones that can just about fit in a normal size mug??

I can happily confirm that it is, having just used it... and perhaps for not the first time this evening as being away on a course tomorrow means I can sleep in a tad! I didn't know it existed until it came up on a social media advert on Amazon but was cheaper on eBay.

Today I acquired a helping hand for soldering.

It seems reasonable although the arm with the magnifying glass is too short and only has 2 joints so not really much use as it is too close to the work when soldering so I have already removed the glass
It is just made of plastic so is very lightweight but I quickly made up a 16mm thick steel base for it and it is now much more stable.
I also acquired a new iron to replace the knackered one that was on the Maplin soldering station I have. Both the iron and the helping hand came from Amazon courtesy of a voucher that my sister gave me for Christmas.

I also got 4x 12v 8 relay modules thanks to a link from @ajlelectronics also some L7812 voltage regulators and some OPB704 reflective sensors which I may end up using on the lathes turret.

Pic of one of the relay modules, I still can't get over the cost of them (4x for under £15 delivered) especially as the quality is very good, just a shame they don't do 24v ones but the L7812 will solve that problem
