Yeah, the success rate sounds about right, the operation has really been mastered now was only about 50% success 10 years ago. She is only 2 years old so although very young to have the operation at least shes fit enough for the recovery. Bang goes my rough shooting this season

Hopefully you are insured, bleeding expensive these specialist vets. I am (hopefully ) covered for £3000 per condition but looks like this one is going to top out about £3500-4000 by the time it is over.

Something that may interest Maker. A Robin pat tester ,it is quite heavy. The little tester next to it is the one I use if I have to do a pat test.

whats the one above a primetest 50 or a prime test 100 I picked a new 100 up of ebay 125 quid rarely use it now cant be a...ed doing it its boring and everyman and his dog doing it for peanuts .used to do 1600 a year at a school but jacked it in now some saps doing it 50p per item

It's back in the workshop now brightspark, I can see it has 5000 on it.
I only test the odd thing, extension leads etc in plantrooms, it would be a mind numbing job I think to do day in day out.

Yep, it gives results, a 100 that 'work' bought for me.

Hope he mends soon, we're looking at a possible hip replacement for our 7 year-old lab bitch, she's been diagnosed with hip displasia and whilst she's doing OK on anti-inflammatories at present she'll only be covered for 12 months on insurance, then it becomes a pre-existing condition. Don't really want to put her through it but would rather see her running like she used to again.

Probably the best thing to do in that situation as it is only going to get worse I would imagine.

Christ the way this is going we are going to need a separate post Dogs and their ailments.
Your right to get her hip sorted while shes still young enough, although your insurance should cover you for the tablets for years to come as she was insured when first diagnosed. One thing to bear in mind though as once they get over six years old the insurance companies start reducing the % they pay you, with it becoming less and less each year until its just not viable to cover them. I have lost 2 dogs in the last year the first last august to a brain tumour and the second we had put too sleep in Feb. He was riddled with arthritis and and enlarged liver and heart. He was on anti-inflammatory tablets for two years and the insurance was only paying 30% of the bills.

World War 1 British 18pounder shell case, cut down and decorated with "Trench" or "Prisoner" art. There is a bit of detail, but the word does say "France"

There is a lot of historic damage, I think it was flattened at one point and restored round again.

I plan to tidy up, keep the historic damage and details. I may "Re Dot" some of the art work. But nothing to drastic.

How did Mrs TYA take this?
Very well, as we are tracing her family History and this may be linked to a Great Great Grand father life or his family.

That is very hard to date. Unless there is any marks, names etc.

But a veneer part on the cab roof would lean to the 1930's. Unless it is a section of man made veneered timber, then look 1960's.
