Hello migwelding forum. I have enjoyed reading these 500 pages very much, thought I'd share a modest post if that's ok.
I work in a plantroom by day and have a small workshop at home, a 1950's small lathe, a lot of cheaply acquired but good old British tools and refurb old air rifles;always seem to keep them too : )

Latest tools, a Garrington Blackbird 24 inch stillson. A Snail brand. A Pickford tool co, Sheffield 'die' which I thought was a quality holder for my taps (never had my specs on) it is 3/16th.

Got this today. The guy said he bought it from a school in 1994 and has hardly used it. Runns nice and smooth.

He has a nice Colchester master for sale too but i have no room.

This puts me at odds however... how to explain the bits of metal now ‘trapped’ at uni which aren’t new purchases but are merely cleaned. I didn’t want to argue... just comply and wait a few weeks for the heat to die down.

As @Richiew says ^^, it's being stored in the memory banks for future use. No point in trying to change locations either, they have better radar than NASA and a more highly developed 'spidey' sense than a Black Widow......oh, wait a second

Here it is in all it's glory.

I have had history on this vice.
I rebuilt it over a year ago and got it into a usable state.

Since then it has bean replaced with a new Clarks toy vice from Machine Mart.

Why?
Health and safety condemned it as the quick release can sometimes jam.
Their loss, my gain.

I got this Raw Plug Hand drill for Christmas.

Mrs TYA brought as a present.

But finding good bits has bean difficult. Flea bay ones go for daft money or are no more than scrap.

But, today a box arrived. That is why I am in the wood shed writing this.



The box, it was surprisingly heavy.



4 bits for the drill. 2 original Raw plugs and 2 of unknown make. Well I can't make out a makers name yet.
