It certainly looks original from what I can remember of the Dickson I had.

Excuse my ignorance but how do I mount it on my old Triumph lathe?

Today I acquired these

1/4" travel on the left hand one, it's a bit sticky but it'll clean nicely. 1/2" travel on the right hand one. Not bad for £14 the pair.

And this, actually bought about three months ago but just had the chance to collect from a friend who picked it up for me.

A very nice 12" Rabone. Original mahogany case, a slight crack in the sliding lid but easily repaired. £10

Don't think it is a genuine Dickson, looks to be one of the copies made in Australia

Was up in the early hours today and under cover of darkness went out raiding, a good haul. All EN24T, EN16 and EN8. My pal came by later with some precipitation hardening Stainless steel. It's why you need a van, with new springs!



Stock levels almost back to normal.

You might have to make a new tool post stud or spacers

It's a travelling steady. Looks similar to the design for a lot of Harrison lathes, but then I've never seen a Myford travelling steady.

I just did a google and it is indeed a Harrison piece.

mixed with other things today i found one of these and it must be the lightest hacksaw i have ever used...apparently they were made from surplus supplies of aircraft alloys from WW2...not mine but have grabbed a pic from inter web...I went to some weird sites 10 mins ago when i thought they were called "Big Dong"

I have a junior dingdong they used to make the saw blades as well .. (garbage ) eclipse used to be the best but I use a Sandvik one. more ergonomicaly friendly frame and a good feel to it and it was only 5 quid from autojumble

I was torn between a couple of UK built side blast forges, or a German bottom blast , the Germans won, mainly on price and quality, though I’ve been using a homemade French bottom blast forge for a while which helped the decision.
