They are police approved scale rulers for forensic photography
so calibrated, presumably?
what purpose do the circles serve? compensation for parallax error?

No not calibrated, not designed to be. These are just to illustrate size and scale. Only work if the photo is taken 90 degrees to the viewing plane.
Anything that needs to be measured has to be done with calibrated technical equipment.
The circle should appear as a circle in the pic. If photo is taken from an angle the circle will appear as an eclipse, therefore the ruler cannot be used

Not sure about the truck but Toyota and Yamaha have exchanged technology in the past, I'm pretty sure Yamaha did the cylinder heads for their F1 car years ago. 5 valves per cylinder???? crossbreed between toyota and yamaha![]()
