The Rapidor hacksaw from @eSCHEn. @cheb kindly collected it & brought it through to mine. Many thanks to both of them.

I've partially dismantled it already. I've ordered a bearing puller to get the bronze bush out. It's firmly in there, & I don't want to risk too much hammer attention, so awaiting the puller arriving tomorrow.

This tool cabinet from the local street market.
Discovered it belongs from a milling machine because I've found a name plate inside.

It has 2 shelves and a drawer

got a few big enough drive key and a little bit of 30mm Teflon or ethalite, anyways expensive plastic for the lathe
I already put the cheap bench drill on top
Taps and dies sets, all sorts of drill bits in it.
Still work in progress
But hopefully slowly I will manage to get the wanted results

Went to see a friend, he was clearing his shed, gave me three plastic binbags of the little plastic drawers with odds and ends in, took me hours to sort out but I don't think I will need to but a Crimp or nut and bolt for the rest of my life

The bush still hasn't come out yet, so I've just left it sat there with the pressure on, to see if it'll start to give.



That bronze bush is well stuck in there. Even scraped some paint off the housing just to check there isn't a grub screw hiding somewhere, holding it.

Careful, my neighbour broke one (I think like this) trying to pull a pulley wheel off an old cement mixer motor.
To be fair, he just kept winding it and BANG, it was kapoot!
I was wanting to put a pile of heat on it, I mean if it's not coming off, it's coming off somehow. No, No, it's aluminium.
I didn't want to melt it, just heat it up.
But no, just cranked at it.

Careful, my neighbour broke one (I think like this) trying to pull a pulley wheel off an old cement mixer motor.
To be fair, he just kept winding it and BANG, it was kapoot!
I was wanting to put a pile of heat on it, I mean if it's not coming off, it's coming off somehow. No, No, it's aluminium.
I didn't want to melt it, just heat it up.
But no, just cranked at it.

You can cool it down too if you are afraid of heating it up

From the car boot sale yesterday, bag of random things from a house clearance, £1.

I really bought it for the lock and catch in the bottom right corner (the one with the keys). I mentioned that I'd rescued a Teng top box which didn't have a lock or catch, I emailed Teng to get a price for one and they couldn't be bothered replying, so this looks like it might work with a bit of work on the catch part as I don't think that's suitable. I have another top box I can copy, though. The welding clamp is nice, but it's a bit bent so handy for when I need to weld closely.

When I looked through the rest of the chrome bits, I have an idea that, completely by coincidence, the window windows and door handles are for Sunbeam Alpine, so might be handy for the recently-acquired project. Some of those black plastic circular things also look Alpine and the mirrors will probably look OK on it, if I get that far. The chrome thing just to the left of the winders looks like an Alpine door catch, but might not be. No idea what the large hinges are off, but I'll make a point of going round some other cars next time I'm near some, to see if I can figure it out.

That's why I've stopped when I did & just left the pressure on to see if it might just shift it a smidge over time.

I've learnt the hard way when to stop.

Not if you're owt like me. My Anycubic is still sat in its box currently. Trying to make a spot for it, which in my place, is no small feat.

It will instantly make you have yet another thing to make things for to make it how you want it...
I have a ender5 plus with a core-xy conversion and linear rails, but now instead of using it for other things I'm halfway through making a even bigger 3d printer (1m x 1.5m x 1.5m build volume) which when it finally prints is probably going to need even more time to improve it to how I want it. That neverending quest for more speed and build volume!

Most of it looks to be mid 60’s Rootes group cars Gazelle , Minx, Alpine. Boot hinges are almost definitely Gazelle, Minx , mazack/monkey metal , they all go like that (pitted/corroded) , lock with the keys look to be glovebox lock. I had 64 Gazelle for years , dad bought it as a project when I was a teenager, thought me to weld , paint, spanner etc then when I passed my test gave me the keys and said it’s yours , drove it daily for years, the Mrs leant to drive in it, only sold it about 10 years ago when we moved house.

Something like an old Oxford or from around the late 50s era, might be Rootes Group, a lot of them used similar at the time.
