Those King Dick ratchets are amazing a bit clunky, but work well with an extension tube.........

P80 AG60 both use HF pilot arc.An R Tech HF50 fitted with a replacement P80 torch will happily cut 22m, 24mm with care and 25mm with extreme care.
I upgraded to the Stamos for a bit more cutting capacity, but the real reason is as I understand for a cnc plasma table a pilot arc start is perferable to HF (?), which isn't good for the control computer.so I've been told.......
Plus it was on a reduced price offer as well, which was a smoking deal....
Then a 20% damage discount....
Most machine fitted with trafimet torches mine included use a blowback start pilot arc no HF.
Same on hypertherm units , the electrode is pushed on the nozzle by a spring, they make contact causing a short and initializing the arc, then the air pressure will push them apart .
And those are preferable on a CNC table due to the lowest electromagnetic interferences.
But if you protect everything with shielded wirings well grounded and electrically insulated from the table there wouldn't surely be any problems.
At least others uses HF start on CNC without having problems...
The torch makes an huge difference in how much it can cut through.
45 amps through a brand name unit hits different than on cheap pt31 fitted unit.
But there are 45A units claiming to be able to CLEAN cut through 25 28mm

Ok thanks, I’ll drop you a message! I don’t think I have any of that series of PLC - they are the very old type, prior to the Fx series but oddly I think I have a relay extension module kicking round somewhere but I don’t know where on earth I picked it up from or what for
If you don’t want it though I’d be happy to have it unless anyone else has a pressing need for one

Interesting......
When I spoke to Extreme about buying just the table and control unit being as I already had a R-Tech plasma, they intermated that I should use a new "Pilot Arc Start" machine and not my old P50HF unit due to interference from my old unit....
.....
.Hence a new machine and a home built table soon (fingers crossed), I have the metal, 3D printed the brackets, just need the control system and motors/belts, I think.....

Today I got some magnets!
10 Neodymium magnets - 60 x 10 x 3 mm
6 x Neodymium magnets - 60 x 10 x 5 mm
They are for the drill/tap dispenser toolboxes I bought.
I stuck the magnets on the back of the drawers to prevent them from opening by themselves and give a bit of resistance before they open.
The drawers are MUCH better and can't open by themselves. There is a nice resistive feel when opening the drawers now.
A big improvement on the toolboxes.

I get all my small bandsaw blades from Tuffsaws, I think it was £24 for 3 M42 Bi-Metal blades to fit the Hitachi.
With the possible exception of Starret (who briefly made a Fischer-Price coloured bandsaw, because they sell blades), I have never known any of the manufacturers OEM bandsaw blades to be much cop.

You might find that you'll magnetise all your taps which will then hold the swarf and it's bloody annoying not to mention the extra risk of chipping a cutting edge.

IF that does happen, I can always use my Eclipse electromagnet demagnetiser and make another plan with the drawers.

I have some concrete grinding to do, which was a good excuse to buy this Makita 180 mm grinder to add to my stable of electric angle grinders, along with a 180 mm/7" diamond grinding cup. I used a thin 5/8" ID shim with the grinding cup to get a nice fit. It's kind of a hefty beast at 18 lbs/8.2 kg, but it should do the job. I like the rotatable trigger grip (90-degree increments), air intake screens, and easy motor brush replacement. A friend who is a professional stone mason recommended this Makita model, which he has been using on a regular basis for quite some time.
By the way, the old Black & Decker "Professional" 4.5-inch angle grinder at the top has been going strong for over 30 years and has worn out at least three cords and a massive number of discs---no idea how many---and it's still all original except the cord.

I don't do very well with LED work lamps. I bought one from Ali / eBay a while back which is OK but it's only a small penlight kind of thing, and I've hit the LED cover with a bit of weld spatter so that hasn't helped, and the magnet isn't quite strong enough to hold the weight of the torch so it moves easily. I bought another from somewhere that was a bit better, then got an identical one from Sainsbury's petrol station - they have issues with the charging socket that can lead to them parting company with the circuit board because the only thing holding them in place is the electrical connections. The one thing these two different models have in common is an annoying "on off" switch, because its actually "on, on at half light, main off and tiny spotlight on, off" so it's a rigmarole to turn off. Apparently if you hold the switch it'll also light up in red and do the same cycle through the options. I just wanted "on" and "off" but I guess they're not sold just as workshop torches.
Last year at the restoration show I decided to pay a bit more and buy a Sealey one from their stand, a decent enough light but it loses charge fairly quickly and then takes a week of afternoons (2-2.5 hours per afternoon, I don't leave stuff charging when I'm not there) to get back to full charge. And then, once they're all ready to use, I seem to find that they're always better at creating shadows than lighting the work area, or shifting to shine directly in my eyes.

I have one of these in green which I bought as spares or repair from someone on here. I swapped out the batteries for some that I robbed out of an old HP laptop battery pack, and it's been absolutely brilliant. The charge lasts for ages and the light is plenty bright enough to work by.
Money well spent I say - you won't regret byuing it!

I still really rate these, really bright and really small so you dont knock them off, super strong magnet, only last about an hour but doesnt take that long to charge from USB

Tuffsaws blades turned up today, made from Starret stock.
As a test I chopped the mushroomed end off my combination 40mm brass stock/gigantic drift.
It took a second for the blade to bed in and stop trying to dig into the brass, which might be down to me choosing a coarser TPI than standard, then cutting brass, but then made a very smooth, fast cut.

well it is round only 2 of the teeth would be cutting on the edge at 1st need at least 4 once its in to cut smoothly
