I acquired this funky looking egg beater type drill at the local recycling shed. Its marked " Footprint - Sheffield England ".
Seems well made and has a butter smooth cranking action, and a nice undamaged 1/4" chuck.

Some fine thread HT metric,ordered yesterday at midday! Some regular m8,ordered at 10am,then delivered at 2pm,from a regular local supplier! My lucky day.
The thinners were ordered yesterday,it can be done.

Took a punt on eBay...described as returns due to damaged packaging. The box had a very slight squish (the tears was me getting into the packaging!)...still factory sealed too.

Worth it at £77 Inc shipping I thought.

I have an 18v DeWalt but boy is it heavy and I got fed up of carting it to my allotment fir the shed repairs.

Yesterday I acquired a broken fuel sediment bowl on the little Leyland 154 just when weve started the hay
My own fault, took it off to clean it as it was full of stuff, diesel bug I guess, slipped out of my gloved hand an tinkled into numerous parts

Luckily the local tractor shop is really helpfull, a phone call to them at 4pm yesterday and this turned up at 9 today, couldn't get the bowl on its own but a complete pump for about £26, on with the hay!

They're handy little machines are those. Not oft I use mine, but they're cracking tools.

Arrived in the post roday all the way from China , ten left hand thread 6mm countersunk Philips headed machine screws . A few months ago I stripped a dead heavy duty SDS hammer drill that had a spare SDS stemmed 13mm chuck
Trying to undo the lh thread securing screw that prevents the chuck unwinding when in reverse I sheared the screw using a hex headed engineers screwdriver & a 13MM ring spanner. Close inspection on looking at the sheared head showed it had been dot punched / staked on the outer rim to stop it coming undone , as well as the screw itself appearing to have had a coat of thermoplastic locking glue. on several threads . I used a 20 ounce old fashioned copper soldering iron to warm up the screw before taking it out with the vice .

Several you tubers have a strange way of attempting a keyed chuck removal on Makita hammer drills ... It's good for a laugh if you have half an hour or so to spare .

I had it from my arm pits to my knees before it was confirmed from skin samples . Heaven knows where I got it from I was a clean living young man in those days . Doc said you get it from working with animals , worrying as I was a soldier in those days ..they were all animals
