I finally bought a flex shaft grinder it’s a Black & Decker variable speed and god only knows when it was built but for $25.00 I couldn’t go wrong.

A thread checking kit from scamazon. This one is all loose in a carry case VS the type on a string. This means easier to use in confined spaces like cars etc.

I paid £34.39 on amazon for it as used condition - like new. (There was only one at that price when I bought it) And it was like new. New they are around £40 -£45 depending where you look.

A new blade for the strimmer - lass in the local farmers supplies place recommended it and the vertical tips on the blades make it a game changer

The horizontal blades cut as normal, the vertical tips then chop the cuttings into smaller bits so no need to rake them up

The bits I’ve done today would normally have taken me 3 days and not ended up as tidy

Edit: it also makes it super easy to clean an overgrown stone pathway, the plastic blade guard keeps it just above the ground and the blade tips take everything off cleanly. Nice

To my eye it appears decent. Testing the threads on a couple of items shows it works well.

The labeling is decent and clear. One complaint may be that the plastic case is a little flimsy but for me it will be adequate. If you planned on stashing this in a van etc then the case may get broken more easily.
