Interesting way of mounting a smaller chuck

Do that all the time both on the manual lathe and also the CNC, I often use the D1-6 collet chuck in the CNC by gripping it in the Hyd chuck as it saves me having to fit the soft jaws for small dia stuff (16mm and under)

BTW is that a Denham lathe? nice looking machine although the X screw could do with a cover.

Too loud / not loud enough / wrong type of tone / doesn't alarm when it should / doesn't chooch at all / alarms when there is no fire aka Homer's "everything is ok alarm"

Good guess, but not right.
All those faults are, or would be with the devices connected with the panel.

The issue is with the panel itself.

It is and looks in good shape however it is unlikely to see any maintenance with its current owner

This is one of my new toys.

Removed from a site after 24 weeks, so as near to new.
Removed for one very simple reason.

I have rigged a temp mains lead and banged it into "Fire state" to show it working.
Any one hazard a guess why it was removed?

The clue is with the battery. It is 12vdc and the outputs are 24vdc

No, and that's the issue. Can not sustain the alarm in a safe sate for 72 hours in a power cut, as the site found out.

That's not the battery in the panel now, but as I found it.

It over charged, cooked off and set the internal heat detector off and evacuated the site.

This panel was put in by an expert nationwide company, famous for tough locks, rhymes with Mudd.

Every alarm system should be able to sustain 30 minutes of full sounders or bells going and then remain active and working for 72 hours in the even of a power cut.

I would advise checking and asking questions of the alarm maintenance guys for those with installed fire alarms.

Appeared recently in one of the conveyor "tunnels", has what looks like red 20mm conduit running the length of the tunnel.
