And that's a baby one.
With my 2G, I lay the column flat, fit the head, then the table boss, and bottom collar. I then fit the base and Howick the whole lot into the vertical. Not sure how much longer I'll have the strength to do it, though.

It is a rotary fixture, looks identical to the taylor hobson 6". Not surprising really as Rank owned Taylor Hobson.
I think you would just clamp around the edge of the flange, or I suppose you could use it on a mag chuck.
They are a precision item, so not really designed for anything heavy. Nice bit of kit, not cheap either.

It's a tilting table for a Tayor Hobson engraver. Clean it up and put it on ebay they make good money.
