I'm seriously considering getting one of those, would extend the 'shed season' through the winter and hopefully get a few more of the unfinished projects done.Not sure, I have a remote control for it so maybe it is to do with pairing the remote?
Either that or the Chinese are hacking my WiFi....
Not sure about unattended remote start over the network though, sounds like a good way to burn the workshop down

ive found a local place to us and their prices are brilliant, they done it all next day for less than i could have got the steel for. ive used them a couple of times and very impressed.
lakeland steel were Charging me £14 for some tabs (each and 24 to do 12mm thick plates) and a 2 week wait these lads were £3.65 each and done next day

Not in my hands yet but my usual Makita source had the 18V air compressor on sale today so I ordered it and some other stuff.
So far:
15:19 I placed the order and got the confirmation
15:25 Message saying order has been packed
15:25 Message from courier with tracking no
15:56 Invoice arrived, 30 days to pay
They are even faster than a lot of members here at the for sale section
The thing with them not only being fast but they have an impressing physical store to and they usually have the best prices in Sweden on Makita stuff.
Also good, they are located 3,5 hours away

I bought a 5kw version from ebay, about £100. Out of the box it didn't work. The seller wanted me to accept a 30% refund. I complained to PayPal, full refund the next day and no need to send it back.I'm seriously considering getting one of those, would extend the 'shed season' through the winter and hopefully get a few more of the unfinished projects done.

Bought another from a different seller on ebay, perfect.
I also bought a new motherboard for the first one, fitted that, perfect. So now I have a spare.
I run mine on central heating oil or kerosene.
Don't bother buying an 8kw version, it is a 5kw with an 8kw sticker.
I run mine from a 30 amp power supply.

I had a similar revealing event a couple of years ago so had a big clear out & tend to practice one in one out to give me a bit of drawer space in the mancupboard .
Now keep the Makita container stocked with the same it came with & keep it in with battery drill where it's usually most used ,
In the top screwdriver drawer there's two silicone blocks of security key bits .
Everything else got very carefully examined under a big magnifying glass and anything that was in the slightest damaged got binned . The long 1/4 inch drive sockets &adaptors are slipped in the shallow sliding drawer ( aircraft servicing trolley ex USA ) that I've compartmentalized to split small , medium & large sockets then small , medium & big spanners .
One thing I have kept though is numerous hex to 1/4 square drive adaptors as sometimes in one work session I use not only swingles , T bars &, ratchets on the same job , I also have one in my battery or power drill. I've also stopped buying tubs of cheap kitchen fitters screw driver bits .. now I only buy a four or five pack of the diamond impregnated screwdriver tips in the right sizes I need as they seem to last much longer .
Think at the last check , I had five different types of x screwdriver bits for different screw head patterns . No wonder we keep being given gear with wrecked difficult to remove cross head screws .

A pick-up pad for the back of the Ranger. My clever wife made one rather than me buying one covered in branding, marvellous. If something is covered in branding, then they should pay me for the advertising, I can't understand people that are walking billboards and pay for the privilege! 
Should stop me scratching it when taking long stuff to the tip or picking up stuff from the builders merchant's Also ideal for sticking the bikes in the back, you hang the front wheel over the back and stick the headstock in the Velcro straps. Takes about 5 mins to fit, 4 straps under the tailgate into quick release buckles.
