Today I acquired...........

Mine worked very well until the inner pipe got a layer of corrosion on the inside (stored in a damp shipping container) it was enough to throw something off for it not to run as well. New pipe welded in and it was back in business. Might be worth checking on yours that there's nothing in there from the welding that could be throwing the air off.

Thanks Jimbo , everything is in good order . Once the jet is in an identical venturi to the same depth held in the vice it's off roaring like a gas cutting torch , so I've concluded it is the back pressure in the furnace reducing the oxygen needed for a good burn. I might end up modifying it to take an old Henry vacuum cleaner inside a screw top barrel intake hose in a flange on the side and put the out going air through a flanged pipe or three via a rotatable circular plate air control box .

But as I'm struggling a bit physically and find trying to hump my home made forge about to work on it is impossible at present , so at 05.00 hrs this morning I ordered a £ 285 three burner gas forge from Lithuania via Bay .. due here in 11 days time .

We've been having a clear out in my local Men's Shed - quite a few old spanners donated that are gathering dust and will never sell (might be handy for some junk art though). Amongst these were a few Stilsons. My eyes lit on a Record 24" which I hastily removed. Barely any damage to the jaws, they open and close without any problems and the paintwork is still good but now just a bit dull. Worth £25 in the donations box. Now all I need is a spare space on a beam in the workshop and a decent sized nail.

I'm after 1/4 , 5/16 & 3/8 whit spanners for my antique lathe that is all Whit & BSF happy to make a shed donation if you have all three in a reasonable condition .

A Odd shaped Parcel

That contained some interesting items for a project that involves starting a rotary engine on the bench for testing.

A set of oil pipes where the seller forgot to include the banjo bolts however he is sending them separately , And a Fuel pump

The fuel pump is the last piece of the puzzle to running this engine out of the car i have all other bits and pieces such as ECM, wiring harness, Accelerator, clocks and maybe others odds and ends I have to connect that I daren't think about just now

What happened to sticking a fuel pipe in a jerry can and putting a battery on the engine getting rather complicated all this computer business

I will attempt to stick some photos in the thread i already made for these engines.

The weight, is for a friend. 1lb Banfield style food weight.



But the little bit of paper is very useful to me.



Not the size of the needle. But the curve of the handle.

I see your missing the pin which fits in the hole on top of your tailstock, the one for oiling a non revolving centre tool. Would be a nice little project.

Mine was missing when I became the new owner ... I cheated and used a 3 " length of 2 " plastic pipe pop riveted to a light mounting bracket so that a fish paste jar just sits inside & is held a tad above the rim , mounted it to the left of the chuck at the bed level , 3/4 filled it with compressor oil and put a shortened 1/4 inch artists pig hair brush in it , it's so handy and makes my use my gamy shoulder joint every now & then .

Sealing plug for the other end when pressure testing a sewer of the similar diameter or sealing one for a while to stop sewage flow whilst repairs are being made as it's not nice to be waist deep in pee & poop. ?

It can be slipped it down a manhole & inflated to seal the manhole where the other outlet & inlets are blocked to & pressurised from one end to pressure test it for pipe work integrity .

Saw something on the bomb squad the other day, chap fished out an old grenade from the canal, thought it'd be a good idea to take it into work with him and show his mates, cue the police, fire service and a large evacuation of the area followed by the bomb squad being called in, common sense eh.
