My mate is a trainee skip diver and came back today with this oak hall table which i have him a score of 7/10 for, I picked up a decent amount of cassettes and a tray of car leads and power supplies.

The scope arrived today, It was posted by special delivery on monday but something went wrong and it was a day late!!

I was miffed again when I unpackaged the scope as it has the biggest fungal bloom on the objective lense that i've ever seen

I'll be contacting the seller to return it as I this wasn't mentioned in the description

That's a bad one, I've managed to strip down a few old (camera) lenses to clean the elements but if the fungus is too bad it eats into the glass or the coating on the glass and remnants of it are there forever then.

Saved from the allotment skip...thrown away because a few nuts and bolts fell off.

I'm just going to fix it up for now ...might repaint the frame just in case the original owner tries to reclaim it...people are funny like that sometimes I think.

A new laptop

Having to lose the desktop and being stuck with the old one was starting to become tedious.

Treated myself to this as I still wanted a Thinkpad, the new touchpad has taken some mastering but I like the full size keyboard and being latest generation processor its very fast. I didn't want to spend the extra on dedicated graphics as I'm not a gamer and the CPU is more than man enough for the bits of video editing I do. The NVME hard drive is crazy fast, so much so I've replaced my old external drive with a 1Tb Samsung NVME drive in a metal enclosure, over USB C the transfer speeds are nothing I've ever seen before, although I am old enough to remember USB as being new and having to buy a PCI card to add it to my PC.....

Decent sized screen means the ignore button is easy to find as well

It's nice having a machine I can run Lightroom on again, I even took the camera out today

The coating or more usually on an old lens the balsam cement in compound elements is what the fungus is living on / in. If it is a special lens it can be polished and re coated but it will cost an arm and a leg and the lens will never have the same properties that made it 'special'.
That said some old glass can take on a new special which is loved by some, I've got a L39 Canon 50mm f/1.4 which technically is scrap but it turned out some very 'atmospheric' monochrome negatives.

Plough/ rebate plane.
You are missing the blade and wedge.
The wedge is easy to replace, the blade not so.

But can be made from old files.

Top plane is missing a "Leg Wedge" to hold the blade.
