I once had to use that type of lock for insurance purposes, when I brought it the locksmith said” that’s 27 seconds” when I asked what he meant he told me that’s how long it took for him to open one.

Paying more for a lock does not necessarily mean a better lock. It will just have more key combinations.

Our local lock and safe place can’t impression a key and have right grumbles about repinning a lock.

Repinning can be problematic. There's few "Standards" in locks, So to reliably cover about 90% of the repinable locks out there you'd need pins in 2 different diameters and about 40 different lengths. It's too easy to get the lock ALMOST right where you need to jiggle the key slightly to get it to turn, But if someones paid to have locks repinned they won't accept that little inconvenience.

For lock picking, a very slightly misaligned sheer line isn't really a problem. I'll just use pins that are as close as possible and accept that I'll have to wiggle the key a little if I want to check that lock works OK, But if I'm building a lock to use I end up spending ages with the "Poor mans micro lathe" (A drill to spin the pin and a Dremel to lightly take off metal. ) until the pins are exactly right. All part of the fun.

This is the tool post I have for you if you want it . It takes a half inch tool , is approx. 75x75 mm .
I've included the bolt washer & nut .. you'll have to use your own threaded bar or ring spanner to tighten the nut which is Metric .

As prompted by a thread on here,I got this,and am impressed,the gouge in the trailer eye is approx 0.1mm deep,in less than 30 seconds.

That looks the same as the Lidl one, even down to the triangular side on the switch. A very useful tool to have.

I use the orange black and decker one and it's excellent....takes a real beating...tried evolution and didn't get on with it at all (just used to spit the belts across the room!).

Also don't buy the dedicated belts...it's very easy to buy wide sanding belts, make a small incision with a knife at the required width and then just tear off a new belt....the belts have a grain to them so they tear along the grain which makes it easy.

The pre cut belts seem to cost a lot.....the blue (zircon) belts are excellent....I bulk buy the 75mmx457mm ones and they last me years. Buying individually would cost a fortune!

I saw it on here too a long while back (can't remember who came up with it).

That storage box would drive me nuts....having to remove the end of the tool to get it back in the box, why do they always do that....so annoying!
