Three phase converter

What size three phase to single phase converter would I need for a 7.4kw output to power this motor? Also what type of converter is the best? Thank you

Depends on the way the motor is wired 415 volt only or 220volt x 3ph, is it a single or 2 speed motor and does it start up under high load?

Whatever way you go a 7.4kw capacity is going to be very expensive and demand a good mains supply.
What is you single phase supply?

EDIT just seen 0.75kw so almost anything will run it, what is the biggest size machine you might want in the future?

You should be able to find an inverter fairly cheaply for a 0.75hp motor very little start up loading on a drill motor generally.

OK 0.75Hp equates to just over 0.5Kw.

It looks like the motor can be wired to run on 220v x 3ph so you should be able to use an inverter, which are available on the bay of fleas.

The data plate states

415 volt......star

220/250....mesh(?)

Usually 3 phase motors are wired delta or star......unless mesh is another term for delta, you'll have to wait for one of the sparkies to confirm...that mesh is indeed delta, sorry I'm only a grease monkey by trade not a sparks.

A solo vfd for a pillar drill is a plus for speed control. Suppose you could power tap with jog too?
3/4 hp shouldn't be too speedy either.

Mesh & Delta are the same thing just words from different era.
You need to open up the cover and see if you can see either 6 terminals or more often with motors marked Mesh 4 terminals.
Both are easy to convert to run for a vfd, but if its a 3 terminal motor all is not lost you can still run on a vfd with a few tweaks to the parameters.

There is usually a diagram on the back of the connector cover, showing the two ways to wire it.
there are plenty of chinesiuim VFDs available. As long is its rated more than the motor you will be fine. The cheapest seem to be 1.5Kw or 2.2Kw for around £60.
There are plenty of youtubes on the subject of wiring up VFDs

It will need a wee bit of setting up, depending on how the parameters are set in the VFD

I managed to rewire mine no issue. Wasn't rocket science. Just moving a few jumpers around. Same for vfd. Easy enough.

Yes,,,,,BUT a 415 volt converter (Transwave) will cost more than a 220v x 3ph inverter, plus a converter will be a single speed, where an inverter will allow variable speed, forward/reverse and jog.
