Bit like notches on the bed postHope you signed & dated it under the top or like a lady friend did with her bespoke dining table , she had everyone who came to her home sign their name & date on the top then after 12 years had a plate glass top cut for it .
You've got a lathe just use that to make themFinished making the motor bracket and securing strut. Next job, make or purchase two pulleys.

More holes.
Just need the mounting holes for the controller boards, then I'll get the panel shoehorned back in the cabinet, and wiring can begin.

I've already started. One pulley is now made, including the keyway. All that's left is cutting the grooves for a poly vee belt. I need to decide how many ribs. It would be nice if I could find an online reference giving some guidance. You've got a lathe just use that to make them![]()

I aim for that level of neatness, but I've never yet achieved it!
Do you need any terminal blocks??I aim for that level of neatness, but I've never yet achieved it!
I've not got that far yet. I need to go through my terminal box and see what I've got.Do you need any terminal blocks??
Or burningLovely variable coloured spalting in the middle picture , be good for making lamps table tops , turning on a lathe or pen making etc.etc.
Perhaps but its rotten and smells of vomit, so I wouldnt want it as a table top.Lovely variable coloured spalting in the middle picture , be good for making lamps table tops , turning on a lathe or pen making etc.etc.
If you decide to go 24v dc give me a shout, I have quite a few of various sorts left over from a job. (No 24v ac though, I’ll have a check but I don’t think they are ac/dc rated) I’ve got loads of terminals kicking around too too!I've not got that far yet. I spent over an hour last night going through RS trying to decide on contactors for the Servo/VFD power control that wouldn't cost too much, and whether I wanted to use 24VDC or 240VAC coils.
Like the place in Bedford that was on the news last night? On drilling down for the heat pump it’s believed the drill released a pocket of natural gas , months later the gas exploded killing at least one person.Philistine , get an air or ground source heat pump

The Megadyne catalogue has good, old fashioned design guidance in real words and pictures, rather than 'apps' (I used it for the baby TB2 poly-V drive on my little CNC, but I'm guessing yours will be J section).I need to decide how many ribs. It would be nice if I could find an online reference giving some guidance.
I opted for 240AC, as the 24VDC supply I bought is only about 2A, and most (cheaper!) contactors seem to need 2A to pull in.If you decide to go 24v dc give me a shout, I have quite a few of various sorts left over from a job.
