Technically yesterday, but I had my first ever go at photolithography, to make some little etched brass numbers for identifying drawers (which are expected to be removed frequently but are similar-ish sizes):
Photolithography is a much nicer process than the press-n-peel technique I've used before.

Sore thumbs!
The hyundai blower I got a few weeks ago had a split fuel grommet. They sent me a spare tank and extra grommet. The spare tank grommet was also split
however looks like it needs full disassembly to swap it so I didnt.
The spare was a slightly different type. I tried various pushing implements. I fear it may take weeks for the skin of my thumbs to recover as pushing was ripping the skin away from my nail.
Cant recommend Hyundai, it seems to be a common problem from the reviews. However its now working and not leaking.

These types of tanks are common. I deburr them if i get asked to fix them

We had to come up with design details on the fly. The design uses 95% scrap metal and the remains of an unknown device with gears that performs the functions of a micrometric feed. Lucky so lucky. I've been wanting to throw it away for a long time. What can't you do when you don't have a milling machine?

Made an airline manifold to go on my tool trolley for when i get around to equipping it properly.
4 fixed 5-metre hoses, 2 spare ports. One ½" port blanked off, might add a larger coupling to it or fit a blowgun with coiled hose.

Made a bit of a bodge replacement for the blower pipe on the scrollsaw. I dislike these things with a passion:
so made up a more traditional style setup to replace it.
It'll win no awards for construction, but it won't p*ss me off looking at it like the original would.
That M4 screw securing the copper pipe is only temporary.

This is a nothing post, might benefit someone.
Trend airshield pro, really nice bit of kit better than a respirator as an all day wearer but the head band is terrible.
After 4 years I've finally paid the £8 for a better one.
So if you have one and don't like the headband a cheap one fits perfectly.

One thing that's been on my roundtuit list for a while, is finishing the code on my little CNC mill so that the tool changer can be initialised easily should it be in a position/status that isn't normal.
This lets me visualise what still needs coded, as all the red boxes are options where I need to manually override things.
However, now having seen the flow, and thought about the possible situations I think a custom page that allows full manual control off the tool changer may be the better option.

The secret weapon, the hop rocket. Rather than dangle a large quantity of hops in a muslin bag in the fermenter, so called dry hopping, then get disappointed at the result. This works far better. You fill the hop rocket with hops then force boiling wort from the copper through it. This extracts the oils and aroma without additional bitterness. The secret is that you then put it through a plate chiller to cool it down from near boiling to 20c before these flavours and aromas are driven off.
Now nestling in the fermenter. It's right at the top of the style guide in terms of bitterness and ABV for a mild, but it is a Christmas ale.

Not strictly today but over the weekend I made a kitchen knife. There are a few things I would do differently if I make another, but it is properly sharp and cuts nicely.

This is more of a completed today, this used up any old stuff we already had, the steal was rusty and the boxes filthy, but it has given us 14 boxes 600mm x 400mm x 200mm
