There's 3 bird prints in the far corner, it's stepped on then back tracked.
It's an area that will be covered so not too worried.

There is a infill of concrete on the path on the street where I was brought up that still has mine and my sisters welly boot impressions in it over 45 years after the crime. It's like those fossilised dinosaur footprints you see on the telly.
We've a section at work with cow hoof prints in it, makes it very non slip.

Third Question first... I was on a hobby machinists' group that already had a Dave H so, of course, I was the other one...I like that, it's always a ball ache job!
I have two questions though, do you have to write Dave H. (the other one) everytime you post or is it automatic and who IS the other Dave H?

And yeah, right ballache, not made easier by Kawasaki-San's putting panels in the way of the yoke bolts! - free tip, wrap the end of the inner tube with thick polythene (Aldi's part-baked baguettes come in the ideal material) and slide the seal over that! Better tip, a ratchetting spanner onthe tighten-it-down nuts! Again Aldi, but the middle aisle!
I'll unashamedly admit I googled the kawasaki tool, guessed dimensions I couldn't measure by drawing lines on a pic off the interweb, went from there - the crucial bits are the bore the fork outer clamps in and the cutouts to let the little tab thing (retainer?) pass through while pressing on the spring. I can do a sketch if it's any use to anyone!
Well you cocked that up, and then blame some birds to add to your misery...

Today I made a tool for retracting the pistons on my Alfa 159's rear calipers.
I made one for Fiat calipers years ago but they have changed them slightly
I started with an old socket and a couple of small thunder bolts.
Used a grinder and file to shape the bolt heads.
Then welded the bolts to the socket and got rid of the sharp edges.
Should do the job unless I get a really tight one.
Last one has lasted well despite years of abuse, including plenty of rattle gun action.
It will be interesting to see how thunder bolt steel fairs.

Well, after trying it out on the range yesterday, I can report it is a tack driver, I thought I had hit once and then I must have been missing, turns out they were all going through the same hole! Surprised even myself on this.
Wish I could remember the book that used that story - perhaps a Mike Ripley Angel? Told it well: show-off shooter groups his shots tight; our hero appears to hit only once

The last pic shows a wireless IP camera that sticks on with a magnetic base, imported from the US. The thing is really kitted out and he is off to North Africa in it shortly, video blogging on the way, there is a double bed, cooker fridge and all sorts of other mod cons in it, spent a fair few quid on it and the paint job wasn't cheap either. He is off over some African mountain range with it and he won't have any bother, well none that he can't handle that's for certain. Handy lad to know.
