Designed but not yet made. A TTL to AFSK tone generator. My current one in the 30 year old terminal unit I built is susceptible to HF RF and so this is a modular replacement for it which will live in a screened case. It is also opto isolated. Automatic override when the mic PTT is operated.

The good news is that the boards arrived very quickly. The bad news is that I have cocked up!

Polarity of the PSU reversed, the ASSumption that the board would run from 5V, no current limiter for the opto isolator, a 4K7 resistor in the power supply line and the wrong value of timing capacitor. I have it all running but I may get some new boards made once the issues are ironed out. Seems pretty stable:

I won’t tell you how many scrolls I made on the end of 2m + bits of steel before I realised it was easier to make them on a bit I could manage and then weld it together

Yes. Guilty of that too... However, I hate the weld line that appears when you get them galvanised, some oddity of the metallurgy changing the way the zinc deposits means where the weld is becomes raised, even if ground flat.

an attachment for the fly press, I was using the stack of punch dies in front to get the height needed, there's a bit of stud at the bottom of the shaft that my pressing tools screw onto

I don't know what's come over me recently, my mojo has returned in buckets.

I made this from stuff that I had laying around.

That's the odd bits of scrap useful off-cuts taken care of. It slides easily despite having perhaps 40lb of steel in there.

Also, more recycling from stuff that I've been looking at for too long.

It was nice to be able to work in the garden again.

I don’t know what those ball things are but I’ve a bucket of them as well. Handy aren’t they.

Work well on a surface for rolling sheet about. Trying to work out how to get them on the plasma without wrecking them.

They're conveyor roller balls, used in airports, parcel depots etc.

Isn't mojo the oddest thing, I can go from hardly being able to look at something, give it a couple of days then back at it like a thing possessed.
Mojo enhancer, should be available at the chemist - non prescription.

Mine has been at a very low ebb for a couple of years. I've even started to clear stuff from my storeroom bedroom so that i can get on with my nearly 5 years old underfloor heating project

First two were the new steel off someone on here, good stuff. The other two are en3 mild steel gummy poo, which was unpleasant for parting.

I met @Onoff earlier in the week and he gave me a helical milling jig to try out. The spacers are to raise it 40mm to be on lathe center height.

Interested to try it! First attempt is going to be aluminium, and if it goes well, I will have something to anodise. Im not sure how well I can mill stainless but I found a bit of 316 I can try it with too.

Cant find the bloody spacers! Started to think I hadn't yet made them.

@Onoff printed some battery adaptors for me. I made some brass contacts and wired one up to the Katsu Fakita baby saw. Waiting for epoxy to set.

First one I've done, I didn't clean the core itself enough I'll know for the next time the pipe is new aluminium, cut with band saw, de burr, scotchbrite acetone, then weld

Made 44mm vice screw and a quicky travelling steady
Needs bsw bolts for steady. Got stuck in traffic and ruined half a day getting them , got home and they’d given me unc

Power been off since Friday but they’ve connected generators now so I could get on
