Yes, They aren't cheap. Thankfully, the bulk of those flex hones were bought in the US while I've been over there. The UK prices of these are an absolute p**s take; it's usually cheaper to import them, but occasionally when I've had an urgent job I've had to pay the UK prices.

Looks like it was the nozzle. It was a new one I put on yesterday and when I looked today I couldn't see anything wrong with it but put another on today and re-cut the small plates, they are on size and edge is much more like it should be.

We need to do something like that. Finally trialled 20 modern style super comforts and the cows love them, so hopefully next year we replace the other 100 absolutely SHOT 2 post style cubicles with those. But at the same time, brother and i think those continuous roll-out style mats are way better than clip-together matting we're using atm.
How do you fasten the roll-out style mats from moving?

Roll the mat out upside down, lift it up onto the kerb and in about 130mm from the edge, then there's a plastic strip nailed along the edge then put the rubber/foam infill in place then flip the cover over the foam, there's another strip gets nailed along the top edge to tighten it and hold in place.

An entire morning with the oxy propane torch gouging an scarfing
Between yesterday and today a 40 litres oxygen cylinder gone.
I'm starting to understand how to use it I've saved myself many hours of grinding .
Now I have to cut the cutting edge and Weld it+ the new bottom, tooth holders and wear plates ,I hope to finish it today because I have enough of it .
I feel the pressure .
It's a big job and I have not enough experience ,I think I'm enough fast too considering that in 9 hours I've dismantled it prepared to weld .
It's 1.8 meters wide and 1.5 meters tall

Plenty wind here but that spot is pretty sheltered. I was wondering if more support was needed for the sheets but I think it will be ok.

Today I made this work 
Given to me by a neighbour. Fault, themotor won't shut off. After checking the circuit board, reed switches, diodes, and the single solitary transistor, I could find no obvious fault. Time to look at the mechanical side. The odd-shaped unit attached to the top of the pump is a pressure vessel of sorts. There's a shuttle in the outlet which operates one reed switch, and a plunger running horizontally and attached to a diaphragm, that operates another, Also a hefty spring. The only obvious fault that I could see was this.
It's a valve that sits over the inlet to the pressure vessel. As you can see, the plastic is in a very sorry state, badly worm, soft, and an O ring groove completely broken off. the O ring was no better. It was flattened, hard, and the centre was very oversized.
Cue an attempt to make one from a piece of Delrin that I happened to have hanging about. The first iteration was going well, until some berk put too much feed on when making the last cut on the last leg
Iteration 2 was going very well. Having made (nearly) one, Everything was flying. Having cut the last leg I needed to machine the waste from between the legs. This time, another idiot forgot on which side he'd made he last cut, rotated the rotary table in the wrong direction, and promptly machined off the leg that had been previously finished 
Third time lucky? Absolutely. everything went smoothly, and very quickly, maybe an hour, and the new piece was ready.
Lo, it fitted and it worked, so if anyone has need of a Stuart Turner negative head pump, they know where to come

I started in on welding the weather-vane yesterday but only got a little done before it started raining heavily... 
Stuffed it all in the cave quickly and got on with it again today. Don't look too closely at the welds, thank God for grinders I say..... I'd almost forgotten how to weld....but got my feeling for it back eventually. Just some fettling to do then it'll be paint time.
A bit of a jigsaw but it's working as planned so far.

Happy to say that it definitely looks like it was a bad nozzle the last day as todays cuts went fine.
Some 12mm steel.
Also made up a punch for inserting core plugs.
And spent 3 hours measure then making plugs up for testing the fit so that I can machine a cutlass bush. Spent the last two days doing 3 and still have 3 more to do. Every single one is tapers and stepped and non standard
