Turned up some new bushes for the dampers on the TVR today, originals have a fair bit of corrosion. All starting to get back together now.

Finished off today, His 'n Her's key rings for my son and his wife [thanks to Al aka @Migmac for the cases ] with their respective birthstones. I tried to get them engraved but it wouldn't have been possible in the timescale, so.......

Difficult to photograph the stones, but I hope you'll get the idea

Chicken run roof. Apart from the weather weeing down most of the day, I managed to get the wall plates, purlins and corrugated steel roof sheets on. I only had the head torch on to screw down the last sheet. I don't like leaving things to chance weather wise, I decided to put all the tech screws in rather than just tack it and finish it tomorrow even though it was going dark. We have a bit of a microclimate up in the Pennines, especially with wind.

When I ordered the roof panels for the chicken shed roof, they sent me two 3m x 1.1m panels too many, at least I think it wasn't me ordering too many. Together with the "cover sheets" they use to stop damage to the main sheets in transit, was enough to cover the run. And I just had enough tech screws and self amalgamating sealing strip. I need some flashing but that can wait until after the birds are home.

Yesterday, I messed about with two bits of oak trim for the kitchen, some weird angles and it took me all day. Today felt much more rewarding.

Tomorrow I'll start on the frames that will be covered in 25mm weld mesh. I'm hoping to get the chickens out of the polytunnel and into their des res by the weekend.

Lots of calls arguments and heavy words later they were installed with the agreement of engineer that’s was there fault and we will look at sorting it after Xmas as I can’t get another set made and galvanized in time . Only engineer iv ever come across who doesn’t think extending the length of sloped section by near 50% is an issue for anyone

If they make a new set for you..... get them to put the vent hole drillings on the under sides ........................... to stop rain getting inside the tubes.

First 7 tiles down, 163 to go. Seems I used 50% more adhesive than on the packet. Tile cutter taking up tooo much space in shed!

I found that too when putting down a carbonised bamboo floor , had to buy another six lungs of adhesive

Ever thought of getting or making an etching transfer and acid etching the words on the body instead ?

After getting flooded out he mancupboard with 2 & 1/2 " of rain yesterday afternoon I've had to wait till today for the waters to subside .
I'm part way into making a stand alone bird feeder for my lass one that will be difficult for the crows & gulls to get at .

I've cut the floor and roof T&G boards and glued them to make a 450 mm wide square board ready for cutting tomorrow . made four 45% angled tree supports to fit the table to the up right total PIA as I don't have a chopsaw just an elastic band blade for the bandsaw . It took seral adjustments to get a good cleane squared 45 % angle set to the slide fence .

Whilst it still set at 45 % I'll be cutting the four 45 % supports for the cross halving jointed base plate piece tomorrow . Then the awkwards stuff starts , my lass would like , " The feeder house to be octagonal , having a sort of pointy roof with some sort of pretty hand cut plastic shingles etc etc. , that look good and in scale to the overall design . Think I'll need to turn up a cutting tube punch and grind half the tube side off to give me a repeatable fancy curvy shingle edge . For the shingles I'm using a reinforced 400 mm wide DPC and DPc sealant and a staple gun to fix them in place .

Not today, but every day over the past several weeks! The 3 axis cnc base machine came from Slovakia, with all the electronics and hardware sourced from eBay and various cnc suppliers. Anyone familiar with the sparky John Ward on Youtube will probably recognise it, as he has built a similar machine. Eventually it will be controlled by Mach 4, which will be interesting as I have never used it and have no idea how to set it up! The spindle is a water cooled 2.2kW with a Chinese inverter (same as one I have fitted to my lathe which has worked well for several years).
Any questions, best ask someone who knows what they’re on about, which is not me!
