Repurposed a pallet, little bridge for when we do the floor leveling later. Couple of long screws supporting it off the floor....

Been 6 months since I had time to fire the lathe up so jumped straight in cutting a 1/2” unf thread guess what it’s off

The saw was perfect, even with the small battery it cut 18mm thick pallet, 20 cuts or more no problem.

Used my old addidas XCS running spikes, 12mm

Thought I'd try a bit of chilli jam dotted around under the cheese, it's absolutely amazing! I'm wondering about "basil jam" now (or some kind of pretentious reduction)

Also converted a chicken and some kelp into a pot of flavourless mush and four litres of fatty wee.

Yesterday it was launched and handed over, much to my relief. All went as good as could be expected, but no Tv coverage . Was promised but didn't show, they claim they will do it later

Anyway it was blowing about 30ktn, but all still worked. Now lets see what's next, another one maybe

Bandsaw stand for Lidl portaband. It's much more rigid now and I prefer it to cut vertically, I can guide it. I can clamp a fence on either side too. Nothing special but it works. I will eventually drill the base plates to bench mount but I have no bench space to mount it

Not so much made as cobbled together. I'm replacing our 15+ year old heat recovery ventilation system and need to clean out the ducts. It's all 4" and chimney brushes are far too coarse, just needs something to budge spiders and dead skin. Also drain rods are a bit too clumsy for delicate ducts including the flexible bits.

Looking around there wasn't anything easily available that wasn't going to cost 20 quid or more and you knew that it would be a pile of rubbish going straight to land fill.

Then, like most good ideas it came to me while walking the pooch. I have electrical duct rods, and I have polishing mops for the bench grinder. One M5 bolt and two repair washers later and the mark one duct sweeper is ready to go.

You can get various mops from very soft up to stiff close stitched of even scotchbrite so should meet every eventuality.

It was basically what they asked for and added to from a base design. The design came from a naval architect who has to be approved by the local (Australian) marine authorities and the rest is history. I had soursed the designer previously and checked him out through marine surveyors as to his reputation. His reputation was good so he got the job

I've usually usesd a 400 mm wide stainless steel or nylon spiked roller on a 2 mtr pole and strap on 5 mm alu tread plate foot plates , with seven or so 50 mm long dome headed full thread bolts poking down in each foot plate secured by nylock nuts .
You can walk over a thixotropic levelling compound and level it with ease. any small indentations from the bolts as you walk simply disappear as you walk backwards and roller over where they were .

Tip
Make the compound up in big poly bags slipped in a double handled mixing tub .. that way you only have to throw the bag away when it gets caked up . Clean your roller & stand off asap .
