Set of gate frames fitted I supplied the wood aswel but they varnished them themselves .

Then been extra busy this week so brought in help

View attachment 254262 A window grille ,spoiling a beautiful sash window,it is level,I just couldn’t photograph square on due to plants in the way.had it powder coated,cementing in the mounting lugs,then ground over the screw heads.
Very rare that I do a job in a town,actually witnessed a traffic jam and a parked problem,couldn’t wait to get home.

What is the reason for the grille?

Not made, but stripped, cleaned, reassembled this today. Kind of like a radiator. Lots of individual plates and gaskets all squeezed together.

There speaks someone that knows what they're doing
Reassembled as per spec, rather than cranked up to the nearest 10mm or so.
We use gauge bars for them. Bit easier than keep running around with a tape.

Pipes are 2" for scale...get a bit funny about taking a mug of coffee into these places dont they!

Backing plate for a mechanical muncher that's being fitted to a PC800 , not a bad bit of freehand with the plasma , just welding it on to do now

First run with the new to me kemppi fastmig 500 , still messing around with settings but I don't think it will come off

I had an auto-dim welding mask that no longer 'auto-dimmed'. I took it to pieces and checked the battery - still a good battery, so problem must be in the circuitry. A fix for another day.

I completely stripped the mask and cleaned it inside and out with acetone. Then it was given a nice shiny coat of bright red paint.

I carefully cut out a piece of 4mm clear polycarbonate and epoxied into the frame.

Next I cut out a similar section of 1mm thick polycarbonate to act as a sacrificial screen. This was attached the thick sheet using a thin strip of foam double sided tape.

With the head band re-attached I now have a grinding face shield which should offer far more protection than those floppy yellow top face shields with half a mill thick protection..

When I have the time, I'm going to epoxy a carbon fiber layer onto the inside - to strengthen it a bit more.

It probably a massively over engineered . . . . . . . but I had an enjoyable afternoon completing it.

Cut some 10 mm plate with the plasma,normally use oxy/acet,but left the oxygen on site,think my plasmas too light,it’s not a clean cut,so had to lever the plate apart.

Started to put a "save for rainy day" project together.

Never worked with these composite boards before but they cut nice with a regular blade.

Been on and off for a month or two this one, but finished off this afternoon.
Even added a smart plug so it can be voice/phone activated etc.

Spent the last 4 days helping some mates out with a camper conversion. Its going to be on telly at some point, the last 2 days we've had cameras and such like being poked in our faces. Its not all bad as the brought a couple of carpenters with them and a runner who made tea and went off to get buns and stuff from the most expensive cafe in Stow..

Not so much made more bulodged shop window sill needed to be fixed cheaply and fast so i hacked out the rot treated it with Ronseal wood rot hardener, then in went a few stainless screws and then a bucket loads of car body filler before painting with Bedec multi surface paint.
