Luxury, my father in law (aged 96) still has a separate washing machine and spin dryer and I think he has a spare spin dryer in the loft in case he needs any spare parts.

Got this lego Croc yesterday. I also got the build instructions.
This allowed me to get a kit list, then a few beers, then a trip to the loft to get the bricks.
Taking inspiration from another helper, I sorted the bits out.
Yes bind it up tight and use lube...........

We had a Hoover Keymatic bought in 1976 for £5.00 in a £5 & under sale section of the local paper. It lasted for about 5 years until the programmer failed. Also I worked for a guy that repaired them in 1967 for a few months. Our washing machine does that, or at least it would if I knew how to!was working at a punters house and they got a new bosch dishwasher controlled off the mobile phone and updates wot cycle its on and finish ffs

I stuck with repairing our old one...it has no Wi-Fi and no active drying.
Also I don't like the idea of connecting lots of appliances to the internet...how secure are they?

Is that the washing machine that had a square plastic double sided programmed lump that you used to select the wash program you needed? My mums first automatic washing machine

In the end I drilled all the holes. In the absence of a workshop it was a hand job on the patio. SWMBO was a bit put out as I'd said she could do it but I told her I'd hoped to freeze to death:
Came in and de-burred on a flat board at the sink with plenty of Fairy and some mesh cloth:
The plan is to affix to the underside of the burnt / damaged mesh with some of these. A little bit worried that the microwaves will "catch" the heads and be an issue.
Anyone?

I'd think its best to cut out the old mesh and stick tack weld the new one on top. Perhaps print a tpu lip to cover the exposed edges?

I must admit I'm impressed, that's come out really well. To attach it, can you cut out the old mesh and fit the new part on top with the same fixing tabs as the heating element cover?
Screws would probably be fine to be honest, you could try microwaving one and see what it does.

As long as the new mesh and the tech screws are in electrical contact with the earthed metal work of the inside of the microwave it will be fine.
If they are not in electrical contact with an earth there will be a little lightening display.
If you want to have a simple play with what a microwave can do;
Get an old fashioned filament mains light bulb.
Stand it in a glass of water, base into the water, the water MUST cover the metal base,
Stick it in the microwave,
Turn on the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds.
Watch the light bulb glow, without any electrical connection to it.
