When they eventually fail will you print up a G clamp and another attached at 90 degree to it so you clamp the level to the vertical rather than press a springy clip on them ????

Today I went from this...

It needs painting (which my other half has volunteered to do, so that's a massive result: I detest painting) and then a (wooden) top putting on it. Oh, and some 3D-printed plastic feet on the bottom to cover up the steel edges.

bit of work in one of my small shops...cant ever have enough shelves or sockets..this is for my lathe,mill,pillar drills and band saw, and 2 compressers on the back wall under the high bench...yet to build a work bench but leaving that until the heavy gear is in and set up. wanted my machines in a seperate space from welding and grinding.

When customers used to ask how many sockets they’d need an old gaffer of mine always used to say you’re better looking at a socket than looking for a socket.

That's a really good point. I've just had a look round my workshop (800 sqft) and I have 32 Sockets (16 doubles on 2 rings) and still never have enough!

There was something like 13 double switched sockets on 2 ring circuits in the current mancupboard when it was first set up . ( 21 foot by 9 foot ).

I've ended up having to put in two more doubled switched sockets , close to some of the original double switched sockets . One for the battery back up emergency light and the diesel heater .
The other is for plug in lights over my lathe and one for the lathe itself .

Yet I found I could still do with another five or six switched doubles for normal bench work etc . Think in the new mancupboard there will be four or more blocks of side by side double switched sockets as I dislike having to move stuff to get at a socket or the work bench
I also have one double 13 amp protected socket too by the door for outside working & extension cable work .


All light fittings are on flexible cable and plugs that go into into double switch sockets on a separate 5 amp ring circuit , so change out of failed LED units can be done in seconds , with out having to stand on lader for long and me reaching up .
As I get older I'm blessing the day I thought that one out.

I think it's done. Turned out the patch wasn't in the latest release 5 months after.
