That’s a joiner,protruding 40mm,I’ll site weld it top and bottom.

I use one of these from Eccentric Engineering on my Boxford STS lathe. I mount it in the toolpost and run the lathe in reverse (camlock chuck).
I also use their Diamond Tool Holder

After the side garage door kept blowing open i needed a way to keep it shut but not on a lock or latch, found a bit of old 15mm brass pipe and a 15mm pipe clip screwed to the door worked well.
Should be easy to make a simple one?I keep looking every so often for a M300 travelling steady in the vain hope that a reasonable price one has popped up on eBay etc, sadly not

First cut a few 23 and 30mm holes in some off cuts of 9mm ply
Put some feet on them
Give them two coats of floor sealer, wait overnight then stick the ER32 and ER25 collets in them
I made them the right size to go in my metal drawers but I could end up putting them in a drawer near the lathe.

Not so much made as cobbled together.
My little Peugeot 206 runabout had an advisory for unequal brake force on the rear wheels (only just within limits) at its last MOT.
Since then I've stripped the brakes down, replaced the shoes, hardware and cylinders and fully bled them, but didn't find anything wrong. As such, I've no idea if it's fixed or not.
Anyway the only way I could think of to test it and get an idea if they're the same both sides was to see what pressures I'm getting at the cylinders and compare one side to the other (Unless anyone's got any better ideas?)
So with a bit of fettling, I spent a couple of hours this morning making a couple of m8 to m10x1 adaptors to fit the bleed screw holes and cobbled this little lot together x2.
Pressure tested using an old cylinder squashed in the vice it held at 1500Psi / 100bar quite happily. So now all I need is for it to stop raining for long enough to get under the car and see what pressure I'm getting to both wheels.
Hopefully it'll be the same both sides and I can thus assume it should be ok on the brake tester, and if not at least I'll have a better idea of where to look next in the hope I can get it sorted before the next MOT.

Take a look at trhe hand brake cables as well.
Wll the hand brake is off, the lever should be agaist the stop on the shoe.
No, that was my first thought too. Compensators only appear to be fitted to the non ABS versions.
I guess it somehow uses the ABS and wheel speed sensors instead?

Made a scale petrol pump to go with the little Landrover. The bulk of the work was done during Christmas break, and finished up this morning. It’s made up from some sheet steel and is riveted together. Painted by aerosols I had lying in the back of the shed.
I grafted a a charging unit onto the end of the nozzle so it can be used to charge the car. Stupidly, I put the hose on the wrong side of the pump, so the pump itself has to face the ‘wrong’ way for it to reach the charging point…
As the inside of the unit pump was empty, I decided - as a secondary function -to make the unit into a vending machine for dispensing cans. I made up an internal chute (you feed 7 cans in my removing the nozzle holder) at the bottom of which is a sprung loaded gate, opened by pulling the side handle on the pump. A can will then roll down a slope and can be received by lifting the hinged Sinclair logo on the front.
I went with Sinclair branding simply because of the dinosaur - kids love dinosaurs! I’m kicking myself for not going the traditional route of BP or Shell but I can’t get a shaped globe in that size, only round, which in my mind wouldn’t look right.

I'm trying to ignore what badge is on it!Is that what they are fitting in the new BMW?
Only bought it because I love a Technic motorbike, and a good gearbox.

Yet another box
Padauk, maple & lead. The lead is hidden inside between two maple "bases" (upper one visible in the next photo) and makes the box heavy so it doesn't move around easily. It's for my bedside table and I want to be able to open it in the dark without inadvertently knocking it off the bedside table.
The lid hinges on some pins that go into brass bushes:
The lid was originally fitted at the same time as assembling the dovetails (for obvious reasons), but I'd been an idiot and fitted the brass bushes on the end that I hadn't shot square (as I was expecting to trim one end to length after fitting) and as a result the lid was slightly wonky. The only thing I could think of to do to fix it was to cut the old lid off and make a new one with sprung pins (using the spring from an old pen with a little brass piece on each end to bear against the two pins). Hopefully once the process of oiling the box is finished, I should be able to fit the two pins , squeeze them into the lid and then push the lid into place.
