Back in the mid 80s when the Schumacher CAT was the bees knees, complete with its crash back front suspension, an upgrade soon to make it's way on the market were bright orange rubber rings to provide a more reliable geometry while allowing some give if needed.

Original use being on sheep for similar reasons to above posts

Those in the know will know about the cat. I still have mine, still raceable. Although the driver less so

I called them elastrator tool for applying elastrator rings to lambs.

I wont use them for their intended purpose but the women dont seem to have a problem with the task in hand

There are very similar looking tools for carefully distorting seals, X-rings, etc, to get them into a bore and then let them expand out into their location groove

A colleague of mine had a deer shoot, always took his dog. Shot a stag, gutted it in the field, (cant recall the proper name, invicerated is it?) heard a crunch, crunch & looked down & the dog was chomping up the dogs goolies. He said it was painful just to watch.

Hoping i can fit the ridges temporarily till i can work up the time & enthusiasm to tackle the other side... then remove then and refit when the other side gets done. Can I do that?

I'd be interested in whether this is possible too.

The mortar in between the ridge and hip tiles on my garage was badly done and fallen through along with bits of tile that were meant to hold the mortar. Now the felt at the ridge particularly is shot and holey.

Wondering if I could just strip a couple of rows down from the ridge sort that with a dry ridge and do the rest of the roof later. I thought the dry ridge systems had a self adhesive strip?

Very nutritious I believe, there was the old scottish deerstalker bloke who was seen to whip them off a freshly shot one with his knife stating ''Och, he'll no be needing these..''
Suppose his Mrs had the job of preparing them on toast for old matey's breakfast..

It does have an adhesive strip to bond it to the top layer of tiles/slates yes.
My idea is to only remove the backing on the side I have completed... so it's easier to remove ridges & lift up the dry ridge material to strip off the other side when I get to it.

The dry ridge roll has some sticky bitumen type on either side, you pull the tape off it as you position the ridge tiles

I've used it to repair my dad's roof where some ridge tiles were no longer stuck down with cement

I also had a number of ridge tiles just resting on the ridge for several months till I got the job finished, as long as there are no high winds you should be OK
