I bought a couple of 700mm blade's for my saw bench last year. And I finally fitted one yesterday the centre bore was 35mm on the new blade's and the hub on my saw was 1 1/2" so I turned the hub down. I only had a 600mm blade on it before this new one slices through wood like butter, and I still have all my fingers.

finally got my little lister running.

yes i know the idle is set too high. when ive got more than just a dribble of oil in it i will set it correctly.

its only taken me 6 years.....

I got this assortment of weights yesterday.

A Mix of steel, brass and a odd one.

In Hot Citric acid.

Hot wax and oil.

The brass did clean up, but not that well.

Not one complete set.

Quite easily done needs 100% concentration and no distractions.

I finally got the ply back into my camper garage floor today, alongvwith the wheelarch ply covers (which have been insulated).
Put some mastic tape stuff I had in straps on the raised ribs of the steel floor to stop rubbing, squeaking & rattles.
Sanded & tidied up the 12mm ply & fitted & screwed in.
Then ran sealant around the wheelwelll covers & refitted them, then ran sealant all around the edges & joins in the ply to try & ensure moisture/water/grit & grot cant get through to the steel floorpan below.
Next job will be to seal & paint the ply to protect it. Then, vinyl flooring for the living area floor, & I can start thinking about furniture carcasses, plumbing, electrics.....

there's something wrong with the governor as its supposed to be at 2400rpm max ideally 1800-2k (its ok to 3.5 but not ideal) and the tacho you see me using at the end of the video says its at 3120 and its backed right off.

yesterday actually I fixed the stuck rear caliper on the kia
old and new , wasn't a lot left on them and I would have known sooner had some pleb not cut the wear tags of them !


all done by torch light after work was a hell of job winding the piston back as my old tool has only one disc and it was a bit on the large side

another new tool on the list .

Strangely I sorted out the rear brakes on the Shogun yesterday. They’d been binding for a while and lubricating the slide pins didn’t resolve so knew it had to be the piston. Compressor wouldn’t blow the piston out so had to resort to grease, when it did come free the piston was rusted up. Didn’t have time to wait for a rebuild kit so ended up just replacing the calipers as I could get them quickly. Still a job I could have done without but the smell of burning brakes after a long run was getting tiresome too.

its spring and weight governed, so its a static rpm engine, whatever the load, it should stay at the same rpm.

What did it come off? Perhaps something that needed in excess of 3k rpm.
Might be nothing more than simple adjustment needed.

it can be adjusted by changing the spring and the weights. it also has fine adjustment on the rod that comes out the front of the crankcase, it is currently set to min rpm and is nearly at max rated rpm for the engine. none of the spring and weight kits would have the rpm that high when backed right off.

funny story, it came out of a sileage bailer, sold at auction as overheating and locks up. when i pulled the cooling covers off it was packed with sileage. no airflow at all. they engine swapped their bailer because they couldn't work out they needed to clean the cooling fins out i pulled the heads off and it was perfect. put it back together, bled the cooling system and ran it for 30 mins with no issues. it however only took me 6 years to get around to figuring out how to shim the heads to the right compression ration

That's a Lister-Petter ST2 or SR2 by the look of the engine & rocker boxes.

On the side of the engine you should find a sort if boomerang shaped extrusion with 2 adjusting screws with locknuts on opposing faces. This is your run speed governor adjustment.

Most of these engines were built to run up to 2250 rpm I believe, (a lot for gensets at 1500/1800 rpm) but some were "Screamers" for 3000-odd rpm.

Another 3D printer fix. Front fan failed on an Ender 3 Max Neo. Didn't have time to run cables back to motherboard, so chopped wires , soldered and heat shrink tubing.

BTW highly recommend this brake rewind tool for non-ratchet type calipers, works a charm on 2 and 4 pot too.

One of these was more problematic than the other-

At least my drilling on centre seems to be improving

I also had a closer look at the front bucket.
I'm not sure one pack of 7018 rods is going to cut it :/
