I was surprised to discover the rear pads on my Alfa, replaced in the first lock down, fell apart as I check the crap brakes before I took it for an MOT prior to retaxing it and putting it on the road last October-ish - it had been parked since May, handbrake off.
My thoery is winter use covered them in salt etc, and no non-winter use meant no repeated dowsings in rainwater to wash it all off - the powerwashing I gave it obviously wasn't good enough.
I've had EBC pads do it on the bike before.My rear brakes had started to grumble but the pads had been replaced within the last year (I had been led to believe).
Looking through the wheel seemed to corroborate that belief.
Anyway, my friend came over today and took the wheel off and split the caliper.
This is what dropped out of the inner side:

I have not seen one delaminate like that before in over 40 years of doing brakes

Rears were Brembo but probably years old.

My neighbour's passenger seat collapsed in her landy and since it's not driving atm (uj on the front propshaft exploded) I thought I'd take the seat out and see what I could do. I found this:
So, someone had stuck one side of the rail together with pigeon doings and left the other side with a chunk of rail missing.
Out with my trusty Lidl fcaw and an offcut of shs to rebuild the missing rail:
Then stick the other rail back together:
There were more cracks at the other end of the rails and also on one side where it was bent:
Gave those a bit of a blast with the welder too. I used a nice big pair of dividers I inherited from my dad to check the spacing between the rails so the bolt holes would still line up.
All good. Just gotta bolt it back in the landy now.

I bought this at the Dambusters Radio Rally last year. Was told by seller it worked, got it for my derisory offer at the end of the rally, checked in receive powered of the car battery and all looked promising.
When I got it home and on the bench found transmit was another story! On some bands it worked on others got no output and about 30A of current draw. Problem was the low pass filter board was not selecting filters properly. This year, curtesy of @My Old Landy ’s generosity I got a logic analyser so last weekend set about it. Found bad solder joint on CPU board and a dodgy connector and together with an ugly wire-add to fix damage done by someone changing relays it‘s back on the air and getting great reports.

Old Stihl 026 back up and running after a slight seize. Tuned it a little too lean.
Chucked a cheap piston and cylinder in as I've some wood I need to sort. Will clean up the cylinder and pop a decent brand piston back in at some point in the future. Will give it a proper leak test then as well.
Also fixed the 3cx, managed to burst its main hydraulic hose the other day and spewed the liquid gold out. New decent pipe rather than the 2wire bodge that was fitted previously, all topped off and back to working condition.

The ride on broke again, its really trying my patience! the big spring that tensions the drive belt lost its hooked end but not to be beaten I had a rummage through the Vauxhall/Bedford stock and found a nice clevis, eventually got a hole drilled in the end but jeeze it was hard, poked the spring though and got a nice big blob of weld on the end, thatl do it! 
Ran it for 3 hours and its fine, did fit a new belt while it was off but I might need to see if there is any adjustment as the drive belt is a bit tight

Today I fixed a modern engineering failure. Specifically, a motorcycle fender. Why they are so darn short and inefficient boggles the mind 
. Oh, its most likely a marketing sales scheme, catering to looks over function. Even the add on extensions are pretty much useless when it comes to keeping sheep & cow ***** from being slung up onto the engine or else ware. So, I bought an A4 size sheet of 4mm thick neoprene and fabricated a five inch extension for the Pyramid extension I initially acquired for extending the stock Honda fender on my recently acquired bike. I'm happy with the result, and had enough material left over to make a deflector to keep debris off the rear shock.

It did 2 seasons but I think it might have been hanging a round a bit before I got it as it cracked up badly pretty quickYou did well with that old one

This Copper Soldering came my way.
Si I used it as a educational aid on how to fit a new handle with out glue.
The handle was also salvaged from a dead file.
Handle was cleaned and given a good oiling.
Getting it to a nice dull red heat.
You want it a dull red heat for 3/4 of the depth you want to fix the handle.
Smoking.
You need to fix the handle in one go, once it is on and solid, do not tamper with it.
Finished, I even re-tinned the tip with modern solder.

Well I had the tools out to clean up wooden handles.
This old multi tool was mine for pennies. I knew it had something in the handle, as it rattles.
But the cap was seized.
Wrap the lower section in a ice cold cloth, the cap with a hot water soaked cloth and wait.
It will come undone.
80% bee's wax melted and mixed with linseed oil.
It will bring the Box wood up a treat.

Well the metal part of the multi tool need the metal polish, so.......
So I cleaned the Georgian Ink well up.
I even made a new cork stopper.
Top LHS is a Percussion cap and fuse.
So that was cleaned.
