Exactly the same for my Lancia - new MOT testers still want to stick it on the rollers rather than drag it out of the box - I just suggest they talk to the boss, or pay for the gearbox rebuild . . . out it comes.

I use the Tapley on all full time 4 wheel drives . Limited slip diffs and electric vehicles .
I would think at least 25% of tests are done this way .
It in doubt don't roller test it .
Our brake tester has the ability to roller test the above vehicles .
But I don't need the pain of a burst box or diff .

didn't think surf had centre diff that's why it has a selectable 4WD & 2WD my old m reg one didn't have one that's why it tells you not to use 4wd on dry roads

that's the difference mine was 2nd gen 3litre no centre diff

Still tinkering with the baler so its ready to go next year, it has a little tool box on the side for stuff like the shear bolts, spanners, a few other tools, drinks and smokes! that might be why the stuff falls out the bottom as its a bit holey so this post
may contain metal bashing and weldering! out with the grinder and chop the floor and bottom inch of the box off to get to some decent metal
Bu**er that its too hot for that malarkey, got a nice bit of 24mm ply so thatl be reet, I could have got the angry grinder out with the spikey wheel of doom and given the whole lot a coat of paint but I didn't, couldn't be bothered

My old series one was always run up the road with a Tapley meter, I think the tester quite liked a run out.

Had a Mighty Antar towing a Chieftain tank bridge layer ( 62 tons IIRC ) on a 32 wheeled Dyson trailer , did a Tapley on it .... fail
I had to get it off loaded and check all hubs and brakes four times over two days before it came up braking square . I discovered the uneven braking problem was three knackered bloated tyres .

God-damned boats again, that boat which chucked it prop shaft out last Tuesday, did it again today, so I welded it on, crap photo, crap welding.
Then, since I was off on a breakdown, work pays lunch.

My RR silver cloud always needs to be tested with the Tapley meter. The vacuum booster, designed by Sir Henry Royce, doesn't work below 20kph. The rollers don't go fast enough and you have endless arguments with the testing Muppet. Found a local garage who understands old cars.
