I was once told you haven't done a proper job unless there is some thing left over the screw is probably in the turn up on his trousers
I once found a tiny screw I'd lost after I'd spent quiet a while looking for it when I took my overalls of hours later

Not that I would do that any more, or less. but as i never done it before I can only guess what that would be like.

Pocket screws I’ve heard them called, bung ‘em in your pocket & keep quiet

Or finding that fixing, at the end of a long rebuild. Then finding out it was meant to be fitted at the start.
To fit it means a strip down.

My favourite was fitting the cover onto a fuseboard then noticing the neutral bar cover sitting on top where I put it for safety

I worked with a sparky at Longbridge who would take 4 screws out of a cover and throw a couple of them over his shoulder because it's easier to remove the cover next time
