in a nutshell just the same as cast iron circular saws that come up with a daft price tag

would you fancy moving the table on that to drill small holes its similar to using a large lathe on small jobs that's why i have a large lathe and a small myford .best of both worlds

The table will almost certainly be rack/pinion so will rise and fall at the crank of a handle. The head is also likely to do the same.

as long as you don't get heavy handed feeding a drill bit in 1/6 th of an inch or number drills down to no 60 . horses for courses

Looking at it there seems to be a lot of similarities to an Arboga, I wouldn't be surprised if it is just a rebadged one.
Mine is a lot older style but still a beautiful drill.

I don't think it sold, was listed at least 3 times by a dealer for £1140.

Yeah very nice.
Like you say rack n pinion easy peasy.
Big tools from my experience will happily do small intricate jobs because you can fit small chucks and tools to them.
The problem arises when you want a small tool to do a big job.

In my opinion Arboga drills are one of the best. I wanted one for years but they sell for a premium but I eventually got one and long story short I ended up getting refunded so it cost me nothing

It's a big lump with good potential. If I was buying it I would go £300 .

To be honest they all need TLC but I never have the time anymore.

It’s amazing the workshop has actually had a bit of a tidy up today!

Started on the EFI on Saturday.

So far I’ve stripped the racks and gear handles, wire wheeled the worst rust off the column and 600 wet&dry on the rest, cleaned the gearbox out of grease, freed off the quill handle.

Needs tonnes of work yet.

Wiring & DOL starter
More cleaning on the column
Foot pedal needs stripping
Morse Taper needs reaming
Tables need de-rusting and painting
Motor needs to be removed and cleaned.
Quill handle needs chroming and Deleon balls adding.
