soil pipe, advice needed , not for the squeemish.

Sorry , I wrongly said bung when meant plunger , 4" plunger wont fit is what I found today...

you only need a ft of plunge to work the plunge method as the plunge method will create a jet pressure inside the pipe

when sloshed enough push forward and pull back again as you want more water to mix and continue to plunge its hard work but it does do whats needed

pull and replace every now and again with the pig tail and cut/dig in more at the material

as you will know how deep you need to get where the main blockage is

when its clear use the plunger again fill with water and keep filling and push the plunger down this time you use the plunger like a ram/slosher trying to clean the pipes as best as you can do

I like that, wont work upside down , only chuckle Ive had on this so far..

you can lock it out so it goes upside down to scrap but you need something solid enough on the pull first to then flip it around and you then can scrape the top until its clear then it will drop back down again

Thankyou @gaz1 , I went through with pig tail again , then rammed it with the bristle , decided then at last cover by sespit to block exit into tank and flood with water, flushed and refilled the toilet so first cover was brimming, left to soak, just had another go with bristle and it cleared , all slurry nothing else but melted paper.
So I need to get certain members of house to flush even after a ttinkle (i am being polite) to keep it clear rather than worry about filling Sespit. Yes I did the pumping motion to build pressure and after the soak each end it did the trick.
so will scrub pipe with bristle all the way through (tomorrow!) and its done.

it reads as you dont have enough fall into the cesspit by the length for the water to carry the solids down to the cesspit

id advise having a flush clear out every 2 weeks or once a month instead of flush every time you use the toilet as you can use water presure and suction on the pipes to help shift anything in the pipes that may have got stuck or dried up

just block up one end fill up with water to the pipe tops and just let go on the end again will be enough once a month to help clean and clear your pipes

its a once a month job but it would save you loads of time like you have just had to deal with

ask yourself has it been ok in the past if so what has changed to cause this .my drain blocks up once a year .its a fat ball on the edge of the pipe that drops in to the cesspit . just rod it and alls fine

Just seen you've had success so I'm late to the party (again ). I was going to suggest getting to know your local agri vet as they have long sleeved gloves for..... internal bovine inspections . Single use only obviously, but you might have been able to blag a few pairs.

Anyway, happy future flushing.

Just in case anyone doesn’t know you can buy the drain pressure washer ends on their own. So if you have a spare bit of hose or don’t mind getting your existing one mucky they only cost a few quid if I remember rightly. Mind you I’m sure karcher etc. are made so the don’t use a run of the mill connector these days.
This is the one we have at work…

My friend had a similar blockage in the drain field, I showed him those nozzles
in a catalog (they were under $10 at the time) and he owns a pressure washer.
He carved one up in his basement shop instead, comes in the next day all ecstatic.

if your a man you knuckle down and get it sorted , I dont expect some one else to clean up after me in any way what so ever ,and wouldnt ask anyone to do what I am not prepared to. its the way your brought up I geuss , old school .cheers I do have a old bosch pressure washer , just need to get it set up ready for next time eh !

we will wash the car or pay for it being done
we wash our windows or pay someone
some wash there drives or pay someone

but when it comes to our drains we dont do anything with them yet we send more crap down them

we used to look after our drains at one time

oh yeah i am a plumber anyway just do alot more jobs than just a plumber as ive posted up many other building stuff on the forums

but drains are my favourate job its the only time people will leave me alone and if they wont the smell will soon make them leave just as much as i will eat a sandwhich over a drain

works everytime where people disapear at high speed

the other favorate is the soil stack backed up to the toilet and we have the area for it where it does back up 3 storeys high

where customers has been told its going to be a messy job they just dont realise how bad

where there friends on the street have all come down for a nosey doors are open all gorping into the garden 30+, on what your doing and the idiots who love to try and tell you your job sticking there nose where its not wanted

the only access point is the rodding eye in the middle of the tarmac garden

whats backed up is going to come out it has to do, what alot of people dont realise is that brown turd filled water is going to reach the same height right up to the toilet

so its fasten the gate wide open unscrew the rodding eye being ready to run crack it open and run i just pull it off much easier

then watch the fountain of crap thats now reaching high above your heads until it loses pressure and starts to drop the fountain

watch so many faces turn white as they see it and scarper off at high speed doors get shut as the stench is foul the idiots have scarpered the fastest ..

then stand in it and start roding and hope you can get the blockage shifted whist your black bin linered up

and you wonder why i like the job, on about being left alone you sure do with that job
