FWIW Snow stops ambulances, fire trucks and police from responding.
Reading the other night that Network Rail were renting a 50 year old loco from a preserved railway as it had mini ploughs fitted to perform route checks and snow clearing in the midlands area. Similarly, they were using 60 yr old locos to drive full size ploughs in Scotland.
