We are only being critical because it’s the right thing to say.
I totally get your learning and absolutely understand your not going to do everything right. I could of easily just “liked” your post and said yeah it looks great but then people do tend to read and follow advice I put on here so I need to be careful with what I write and either say it as it really is or simply say I don’t know. I absolutely want you to put up your welding pictures and see them as they progress. I’ll always be happy to pass on my honest advice in the hope it helps. Be prepared to be called out on them and you must see it as a positive because if you didn’t get advice you’ll not know where to concentrate effort.

I personally think this sort of post makes this site so good, brad does the 'slagging' (pun intended) and rich does the explaining.
It works great it's a bit like when you where an apprentice, which I can safely say most of us are still in the learning process.

Equally people like Ian, who are brave enough to post there pic's so they can be pulled to bits. Just helps everyone who isn't a pro.
So please keep it up and don't worry about a bit of criticism it makes you a better welder.

I don’t agree with that. He’s usually more than happy to pass on sound advice. He’s just got less patience than me if that sound advice falls on deaf ears.
Brad knows a good chunk more than I do about materials, consumables, metallurgy etc and if he gave me some advice on something I hadn’t got right I’d be seeing it as a positive and taking it on board.

This thread is in danger of dissolving into an argument guys. Brad can be blunt, HOWEVER, if he has picked something up it is generally for good reason. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, and him and Richard are probably the top two guys here you would want to have giving you constructive criticism
