Here's my dad's vice, it's a Record 36, 4&1/2" jaws and a quick release.
I built a stand for mine and it keeps growing extensions.
Since this was taken it has sprouted two casters, lean it over and it can be rolled around carefully. And a small anvil and a smaller vice on the reverse oh and a set of matching Bahco files.
Cheers. If you're absolutely sure, that would be lovely.
A lot of swivel vise bases never look like they're liable to have much grip, from the ones I've seen. Good to hear it seems a decent vice. One of those should fill my external vice want nicely.
should do all ya need it to do..they do a fixed base but I don't think its the 200...
Any photo's of the other vice and small anvil Chunko'? Is that a No.25?
I will update it tomorrow. What model? big fat one. You can just see the 25 on the side.
Cheers. Thought that was a 25 on the side, but 3, 5, 6 and 8 tend to look awfully similar in photo's.
A photo of another one, to keep Maker happy. This one is a little York, (Czechoslovakian), 60 vice. Unpainted, with protection provided by a coat of Linseed oil instead.

A ball vice
You lucky, lucky devil. That's one of the Parkinson Ball Base Vises, isn't it? Those are like hens teeth if my luck in finding one is owt to go by. That's only the second one I can recall seeing so far.
Yes, Parkinson Ball Vise £9 at a car boot
christ couldnt u barter him down another couple of quid luck money
Started off at tenner the robbin bas
Rub it in a bit more why don't you. Seriously, you did extremely well just finding one. The price was the icing on the cake. Treat that one well because you'd truly have to have the luck of the devil to drop across another one.
p.s: If you ever decide to sell that one, could I get first dibs in?
I know, they are rare but I saw it and couldn't walk away, in good nick, locks up ok on the ball,
I think this will be on the fitting bench.
That's awesome, and at that price. I've seen lots of ball mounted vices before but never one as solid looking as that, they're usually "jeweller's vices" and flimsy as paper.
Is that a 36 or a 34 on the side?
Oh yeah, it's a 34 isn't it.
I'm powder coating mine before i show it, paint just isn't upto the job
Typical male, saying it's larger than it really is.
Spotted this on gumtree.
Would love this for my welding trolley, unfortunately it's 100 miles away. Wonder if I can talk Mrs into a day at the beach (Portstewart is a nice seaside town).
