This is what I've been using recently:

It's a 3&1/2" Elliott Victoria milling vice on a swivel base and the green one is a Fabrex 413 drill press vice. I usually don't use the green one but it can be helpful sometimes. It's great to be able to take the handle off to get it out the way and then rotate the whole vice around. At the bottom of the second picture, you can just see the edge of a little woodworking vice that was all ready on the bench when we bought the house, I've got a much bigger woodworking vice, a Record 52 1/2 and I do actually have a normal metalworkers vice, a Record No 1, but I left it in the shed when I moved into the garage. Oh, and a cute little clamp-on vice with about 1" jaws.

"These are most of my Record ones.
Here's some more Record vices.

Exactly. There's good reason why I only mentioned and posted one. I'll sneak the others in over time.

Vice weighs..32.2 Kg around 71lbs....

That looks even larger than I expected it would. That's a veritable beast of a vice.

This is my Clarke 200 bench vice..not the best in the world but does the job...360 swivel with small anvil..would like a record 49..but they big money.....

still bigger than my vice, I've got the 125mm version of that vice, I only got it so that I can use it to hold a bead roller away from the bench. otherwise I'd still be using my old 80mm vice that I've used for the past 20 years

Is that one of their welded steel ones? What's that like for slop, rigidity etc? Been considering getting one of those, or similar, for mounting on a sleeper outside, for when I want to use a vice outside. I'd be gutted doing it with one of my other vices though, but those look like they might suit that purpose well without costing the earth.

Looks like it's obviously been reliable enough though? Just wondered as I occasionally see one of those type, and they always seem to be in decent shape and a few years old, so wondered if they were a decent little vice, as I quite like the look of those. Wouldn't mind adding one to my brood, but I've always been undecided simply due to the origin and quality being an uknown.

Yes...and to be honest I cant really fault it...good size..replaceable jaws...good bit strength..all round a good vice for the money..the only thing I can say is ..because its a 360 sometimes it can slip if you giving it a bit with leverage...
