A drivers seat is ~15k, or it was when we put one on the boat for the captain...Bentley continentals have a ceramic brake option, it’s £20k to replace and last 80-100k miles

Dear godThought id give some perspective. My partner drives an 2012 audi a1 1.4tfsi
Slip ring for the steering wheel £400
Egr valve coked up requires the head
of to clean it up plus new valve £3800+vat. Car is not worth more than £6000
Ive never been keen on them, even less so now!!

Id happily buy a high mileage bmw 06 era have it 3-5 years cheap driving sell it and move on.
Apparently looks are more important. Oh well
But I'm personally quite happy driving around in my 12 year old van
Sorry that this topic is going off, But stopped buying anything large as it's only a matter of time until I need to find somewhere to live & I don't know how much space I will have available. So limiting myself, But know what you mean!I am right with you on this one.
Though there are downsides. As you can easily transport "stuff" it is all too easy to fall into the trap of buying ANOTHER machine.........
