Looks like they only stopped shipping the welder to the UK, but you can still order the pedal separately

I was curious so I just tried putting an order through for one, alas no... no option for UK as shipping destination.

I had my order for a pedal cancelled, despite ordering it before 31/12.

I got a home-made one to work using the connections shown earlier in this thread. The only place I could find the right connector was from Amazon on slow delivery (also from a link earlier in this thread).

(Need to tidy the wiring up and add a shroud to stop the muck in.)

So got a message back from weldes. Its basically a shipping issue. To much hassle to send stuff here. Items getting returned or lost. That great deal boris brokered isn't so great after all.

Basically any standard type pedal will work, all they consist of is a potentiometer and a switch. The pot technically needs to be the correct resistance but even that wouldn't matter that much.
Regarding the plug/socket on Jasic and Sherman, from memory they are the same.

Looks like I've joined the Sherman owners club too. Mine arrived at my work this morning.



Didn't have a euro adaptor to check it powers up, but will try to turn it on tomorrow. Otherwise, it all looks to be the same as everyone else on here. The pedal cable looks good. Torch is a bit pants, but expected that and will swap it out for a flexi head.



Looking forward to getting a go and seeing what the hype is all about!

One question. Do you use the 206p for stick welding?

I don´t remember, but one I read one guy used a tig/mma welder in mma mode and after that the welder didn´t work well again. I don´t remember if I read thah in this forum or if that was about the sherman. Do you know anythin about that?

I have to weld a welding table (6 mm max thickness) and I have the sherman 206p and an old AC welder of 140Amps maximun. I´m still learning TIG and I prefer to do it wth MMA.

Yes, 140Amp stick is plenty for 3.2 rods and 6mm would not be an issue. The only thing would be the duty cycle and that would depend on what type of old transformer it is, if it is a wee SIP140 buzz box hen it would still do it but the duty cycle may be an issue and you may have to wait long periods for the welder to cool back down.

It has been mentioned that there are still places selling them but I don't think anyone has actually said where so as not to get them stopped as well, maybe a google search will bring something up.
Parweld XTT212 is seemingly a nice welder but probably at least a couple of hundred more than the Shermans were going for.

Has anyone been using a WP17 torch for AC on the 206P. I want to swap out the torch and have a Kennedy flexi WP17 on my R-Tech. Spent a bit of money on CK bits for it, so a little reluctant to get a new WP26 and have to buy everything again, but have heard tales of WP17 torches getting hot when do a lot of AC.

To get started I’m going to change the fittings and connectors off the Sherman torch onto my 17, but is it inevitable I’ll want to go up a size for AC or have I got my wires crossed?
