For sure Sherman 206P AC/DC is from Jasic factory, which sell to several companies with another brand.
It's exactly the same inside? Hard to say, but quality of this welders is the best compared to other Chinese producers. We can see it in the number of complaints... On the 206P we only had only one complaint.

I looked for a fitting with the 10x1.0 thread but couldn't find one, did that for the Stealth though as getting one with a 3/8BSP female thread was easy enough.
How exactly have you done that? Is it a 10x1.0 female with different male thread as an intermediate?

Just didn't fancy opening the case so early in its life, the bulkhead mounted connector is a better solution but this easy to reverse should i ever want to.

S'alright. Took a bit of time to figure out the settings and whatnot but it's all good.
I like the flexible lead - way better than what I was using before although the torch is a monster compared to the flexi 17 I'm used to - I think I'll swap that out.
The pedal is bigger than I was expecting but in a nice, chunky way only let down by the double dong wiring to the plug.
HF start is a revelation which I'm enjoying and at this point I'm very happy with my purchase.
Oh, a memory function when flicking between modes would have been good as the only thing it retains is the peak current. Having to reset the other settings gets to be a bit chore after a while.

Just a heads up for everyone I have noticed some hissing on my welder.. checked all the connections all good but i sounded like it came from the inside so took the lid off and guess what ? It was leaking from the connection on the back, luckily i was able to get a 12mm spanner in there and tighten it up without taking it apart even further.. might worth double checking so you don't waste your gas
That's what i did first, and then started checking everything to double check and noticed the hissing

No complaints from me, still loving it. Only time I ever use the Stealth now is if I am needing over 200amps.

At the risk of hysterical laughter, here’s my first attempt ever with tig. I only had a bit of 5mm hot rolled, which I’m not sure is at all suitable, and within the first few seconds I understood all too well what everyone means by making yourself comfortable. Back along I have used oxy-acetylene and got just about passable with it, and there seems to be a few similarities.
I suffered from all the usual beginners problems - useless at feeding the rod, couldn’t keep a straight line, erratic movement, not keeping the rod in the gas shield, etc etc. I was using the pedal but only as an on/off switch as I didn’t want another variable to worry about. I did manage to avoid dipping the tungsten though.
One really daft question though - how do I set the gas flow? Do I hit the switch with the torch in mid air (ie nowhere near the work) - the Sherman seems to switch off after a few seconds if I do this, and I wonder if it senses that the arc hasn’t struck, which doesn’t give a lot of time to fiddle with gauges and pea shooters.

Some welders have a gas test button that will open the gas valve for 30 seconds or until you press it again to stop. Sadly the Sherman doesn't have that so the easiest way is to set a longish post flow, say 10 seconds. Press the trigger until you hear the HF crackle then release and you should then have about 10 seconds to test the flow.
