Used to get Dolphins alongside all the time when I had a boat. No camera phones in those days but one day I took an old film camera with me and got a few snaps. Have better ones somewhere but not sure where. The two types we get here are common as in pics below and white beaked which are massive beasts in comparison.
Also have some pics of Minke and also a distant shot of a killer whale but not sure where. Other stuff we have seen was a turtle and a massive sun fish. We thought that was dead as it was lying on its side on the surface but as we approached it turned upright and disappeared.
Basking sharks used to be quite a common sight but never seen one for years and not heard of anyone else seeing them recently. We did have one in a Salmon bag net many moons ago up at Lybster, we managed to get it out of the net and towed it a mile out, reckoned it was dead but as soon as we cut the rope it flicked its tail and swam off, was great to see, it was longer than the cobble so must have been at least 28ft.
