Resin printer question

I've still not yet received any resin or Isopropyl though. I'm thinking this'll be a next weekend play session now.

I'm going to stiffen that bench it's on, a bit, as that was part of a larger setup. It's lost a tad of rigidity now I've removed the rest of it.

Have they improved the drip tray or is it still flimsy?

They haven't improved it. Shockingly thin, flimsy plastic.

Put a second shelf on that rack to store the wash/cure units. That's also added rigidity back into the framework.

The resin turned up today. The IPA should be arriving tomorrow.

The IPA arrived today, so fingers crossed, I should be able to have a play, this weekend.

Another question. Can you leave resin in the vat, after use, else is it best to pour the remainder back into the bottle?

I have left it for about a month without issues. Always stir it and check the film doesn't have anything solid on it.

I've had some in the Jupiter for best part of 9 months - just printed with it yesterday (due to problems with the Saturn ) with no problems. I usually lower the bed a little into the resin to reduce surface area exposed to atmosphere but didn't this time....



The 'dusty' surface texture was me handling it prior to cure removing a ton of support material

I've downloaded & printed a vat cover for the Mars 5. I'll do the same for the Saturn 4, now I know it's fine to leave resin in there a while.

Also wired up a permanent four socket extension for that bench, today, as there's no power socket in that corner. 1.5mm rubber flex. That stuff's like battling a snake when you're trying to wire up.



Yes, that is indeed my bed this rack is smack next to.

I can think of worse ways to go. If I deem fumes are an issue, I'll sort something. I'm not overly concerned currently though.
