Careful with the old Renaults. For the '50s and '60s the engine rotation was different between front and rear engine cars so the crank handle always operated clockwise. From the '70s they invented 12V electricity and deleted the starter handle so the later R4 engine turns in the opposite direction to the earlier ones.
For Renault gearboxes it is straightforward to put the diff in backwards to reverse the direction. Maybe the you can do that with the Citroën.
