RCD tripping with lathe

Y'know what I have loads of pics of the machine but none of them show the pulley.

I think it would be a step back for you anyway TBH I would certainly go the VFD and 3-phase motor route. I don't think I would ever want a lathe now without variable speed.

no once you slacken the motor of the pulley the belt is stationary here is the guide either side of the belt to give you the idea. no need for the jockey wheel to tighten the belt as you use the motor to tighten and slacken the belt http://merrytiller.co.uk/spares1.htm

yep the pulley just spins until the belt is tensioned.-quite simple

no it must be fixed otherwise the belt would grip on the pulley

Well it's done and working I may weld the angle in to give me more adjustment if I need it.

That's the amuse bouche. For the chef's special, you now have to find a sympathetic/respectful/tidy way to bring the lever out so it can be operated with the door closed.

use the existing lever . take the ball off the end and fasten a hinge of sorts conected to the rod up over conected to a lever sticking out to operate just up and down
